Lions DT Ndamukong Suh on Saints: ‘I don’t plan on anybody shooting our defense out’
1 Attachment(s)
ALLEN PARK, Mich. — Ndamukong Suh was helpless the last time Detroit played New Orleans.
A stomp-induced, two-game suspension relegated him to spectator status last month when the Lions lost 31-17 to the Saints — and Suh said he did that from his parents’ home in Portland, Ore. “It was obviously difficult,” Suh said softly. This time, Suh will be on the field to help a franchise with only one playoff victory since winning the 1957 NFL title pull off an upset win at New Orleans. The Lions and Saints have offenses so potent that oddsmakers have set the over-under betting line at a playoff-record 59 points for Saturday night’s game. The previous high was 57 when the Saints played Arizona two years ago and won 45-14. “I don’t plan on anybody shooting our defense out,” Suh said. “You can’t discredit the type of offensive team that we’re going to face in the New Orleans Saints. Drew Brees is obviously a great quarterback. “I look at it as a great challenge,” he said. Full article. Lions DT Ndamukong Suh on Saints: |
The Saints All-Pro Guards will be tested.

As we get farther and farther ahead he will change his tune, but at the same time thats when I worry about the Lions playing dirty.
|
Going to be tough, no doubt about it. For both teams. As far as the "playing dirty".... The Lions are sick and tired of being losers. A winning attitude is FINALLY starting to happen there. The same thing can be said about our Saints. Just ask Brett Favre. Brett STILL sees Anthony Hargrove when he closes his eyes.
This is the playoffs. All bets are off, records mean nothing. HEART is what counts. Who wants it more. I worry about the Lions because they WANT to win.....BADLY. Our guys want to win also, our guys want to prove they are one of if not the best team in the NFL. Going to be a good game. |
“I don’t plan on anybody shooting our defense out,” Suh said.
What does this even mean? They gave up 40 to a bunch of backups last week. What are they going to change for this week? |
Plan?
No one plans for the Drew-quisition. |
The saints have the 30th ranked pass defense. Just sayin'.
|
I wouldn't bother Suh on a bad day either, you might end up with a size 16 kleet grinding your forearm!!!!

we also hung 520 yards and 5 TD's on that defense.
we will play better defense. |
Can't hold on to the ball too long with their rush.
|
Defense is going to be so critical. Limiting megatron is key as are any turn overs. I hope we can match their intensity which should not be a problem in the dome. Starting fast especially defensively is what I want to see do not let them score early and get too confident. Pound them on the ground after getting ahead.
|
we need to get ahead and stay ahead. We can easily do this if we don't turn the ball over.
|
Oh really.......
|
Suh is a great player....Brees is better and most likely will get rid of the ball quickly before Suh can have a impact..
|
I like Suh. I'd take him in a heartbeat any day. I have no issue with any defender who plays with passion and wants to hurt someone on every play. Might be the old school mentality in me.
We might be the 30th ranked pass defense, but that is by yardage only. Still gave up less pts per game and TD's against passing than the Detroit defense did. And regardless about who or what did against what team this year the only real one that matters is head to head and we already know how that panned out. I look forward to meeting again 2 days from now. I like the Lions and respect them and all they have come through. Great young team with a promising future. I still want to add a lesson for them to learn from to that resume though. |
When you have Drew Brees, you can be 30th ranked pass defense and still win Super Bowls. Just sayin!

Being in the Dome gives our defense the huge advantage; noise level is going to be even more insane than the first time around...
|
since our visitors are making us stat obsessed, here are a few more:
avg points given up a home: 17.8 games <20 pts. given up: 6 winning % at home: 100 yards given up: WGAS? |
Can somebody please tell SUH that you don't plan for your defense to get out shot by the SAINTS........ IT JUST HAPPENS!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHO DATT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
As a Lions fan, I wish Suh would just shut-up and let his play do the talking . . . he's been long on words and short on action as of late . . . the microphone is not his friend . . . just sayin' . . . but I am glad he's on our team.
go Lions. |
Suh's presence will be an upgrade to that position and to that side of the field.
Not worried though. He still can't be in two places at the same time. He can't control the run and the line of scrimmage and pass rush too. Just can't do it. He can't pressure Drew and chase down the screen too. He just can't do it. He will have to pick his poison, along with the rest of his crew. Either way, they only have 60 minutes to live. |

we are 30th in passing yards given up; but what does that matter when you are 13th in points given up.
Not too mention; 1st in total yards, 2nd in points, 1st in passing yards, 6th in rushing yards on offense... |
|
It happen we shot out your Defense.

Bang Bang Bang
