I am trying illustrate that when TV and internet "Talking Heads" rate a defense, they use the yds allowed stat exclusively.

I agree, it is misleading. I just don't like the amount of yards we give up, it's to many.

13-3 is a barometer of future success that is cool with me.

8-0 to finish the season is pretty cool too.

How many of those yards are in garbage time?

Thats odd for a GW defense but thats kinda what it looks like.

Of course, when you're up 3 scores and playing prevent, you give up a lot of yards.

But I also remember several games where we gave up a zillion yards in the 1st half, but completely shut our opponent down in the 2nd.

This defense is skitzo. I don't know what to make of it.

Well traditionally this is a game of yards.

Its a good yard stick to rate your unit by how much field you give up. You want to back your opponent up to give them the length of the field to score.

Our offense makes up for our poor Defense. We score a lot of points and that goes against other teams stats. Our D doesn't have to play the our O thank goodness!!!
