The Bell Tolls: Sproles is Saints' perfect fit
1 Attachment(s)
Sproles, gearing up for his first playoff game with the Saints on Saturday night at the Superdome, has also wasted no time finding a sweet spot in Sean Payton's juggernaut.
Was there a better pickup during last summer's abbreviated free agency signing window? After spending the first six years of his NFL career with the Chargers, Sproles set the NFL's single-season record with 2,696 all-purpose yards. That mark, which includes rushing, receiving, kickoff- and punt-return yardage, eclipsed the standard set by Derrick Mason in 2000 by six yards and exemplifies exactly how big a diminutive man (5-6, 190) can be on a football field. He rushed for a career-high 603 yards on 87 carries, caught 86 passes for another 710 yards, including 25 on third downs. He was second in the NFL with 724 yards after the catch. He was sixth in the NFL with a 27.1-yard kick-return mark, and averaged 10.1 yards on punt runbacks. Bell Tolls: Sproles is Saints' perfect fit |

He really is good, dynamite in a small package.

I wanted Sproles after Reggie Bush's second year with the team.

I was hoping and praying that the reports we were going to sign sproles were true and im so thankful they did, 603 yards on 87 carries is insane, he averaged 7.0 yards per run.
He just fits so well into our offense, people questioned his size but they were all proven wrong, his heart makes up for it |
