Did you hear Rivers after last night's game finally answering a question about letting go of Sproles? Sanders said "Bet you miss Sproles now". Rivers said, affirmatively: "No doubt". Then, said he "pulls" for both Brees and Sproles.

That's OK, I must have missed it myself. In any case the Saints at least shed his salary, which enabled them to sign Sproles, and the guy they got directly in the trade made the onside kick catch against the Lions. So all in all a good trade. |
First of all, its SP's wife that lives in Dallas. Its not as if Sean is commuting or something, this actually gives him more time to concentrate on the team.
Secondly LaDainian's Mom nailed it. SD was in a hurry, it cost them. Lastly, SP and Bree's aren't going anywhere, even if they don't have new contracts. All that was put aside until after the season. I'm sure they will be amply rewarded plus, they know what they have in NO is extremely rare and special. You can't buy it in a bottle. |

I'm going to that San Diego game next year to thank them myself!

SP already signed a new multi-year contract and Brees will probably be franchise tagged if they can't reach a consensus on his new deal. Which could be for the best, because Nicks will be probably asking for about 8M/year contract to stay with NO and match Evans' contract. |
