When it was all said and done, our defense gave up a ton of yards, but we still won by 17.
The D kept us in the game in the first half, and that stop on the first drive of the second helped the O wear down Detroit.

The good news is that Crabtree is not Johnson, and Smith can't even spell Stafford.

Woo hoo! Before the game I wrote down on a slip of paper: "Jabari Greer will have a Pick Six tonight."

Well, Jabari Greer didn't have a pick six, but he crushed the souls of the Lions with two key interceptions that sealed the victory. Give that man a game ball!

Defense is going to have to play better, especially @ Green Bay

No turnovers and the Saints win in Green Bay. Although, I wouldn't be shocked if the Pack get upset next week which means the NFC Championship goes through New Orleans. WHO DAT!

The Packers defense is worse than the Lions; I'm more worried about what happens in San Fran...

Truth be known, this was the team I did not want to play, young, hungry, and really a good team. We moved the ball on a good D at will tonight the entire game. Their O is good also, they have racked up a lot of yards all year. The 1st half our D played fairly well considering how long they were on the field {2 turnovers} the 2nd half our D seemed to do better and got 2 turnovers for us. If I graded the D tonight B-......

Im worried about the field, it is the field condition that will give us hell

The NFL needs to monitor that closely, seriously! But I won't be surprised when we see a sloppy field next week. Let's wait & see.

as long as no one pulls a Mike Bell and doesn't wear the right cleats we should be fine...

Still some challenges to come next week. Gore is a man and Vernon Davis is as dynamic a TE threat as they come. We seem to be fairly stout vs the run though so I will want to see if Alex Smith can do it with his arm. I think our D can hold their own.

Offensively they may be able to negate our run game but Drew and the passing attack is still too much. They have some nice edge rushers but our weapons outnumber them.

Same next week as it has been in weeks prior: Keep Brees clean and I like our chances.

What I'm wondering is if their defense is si good how did they give up 24 points to the rams?yeah I know we lost to the rams but just saying that I'm not as scared of that defense as most are

I said this elsewhere before...the 49ers defense is really good, one of the better ones, but it's only like a lock that "safecracker Drew" has to pick...he surveys it from a distance, creeps into town, puts his ear up to the vault, licks his palms, concentrates, he twiddles and turns the knobs, and it will open up...he has cracked open tough defenses before and it will be a rather stressful game because cracking a defense takes time, but he will turn the dials and get it right!

When all is said and done we won the game and I'll take our D over a couch potato anyday. You couldn't tackle the waterboy, so why should your opinion matter? Just because you have one? I trust our defense and have a lot of respect for the job they get done. It isn't a cake walk. They are amazing human beings, if you ask me. Far more than some of the fans. Merely an opinion.

Next up, San Fran. I've watched a few games of theirs, they do not impress me on O or D, to me they are overrated. As long as Brees and the rest of the O protect the ball we will be fine. Their turnover rate is an impressive stat. but thats it. Turnovers have been the only key to their sucess. They play just like the Ravens, mirror image. We can win this.

It'll be fun to see an elite offense up against an elite defense. Lately our D has been driving me crazy the first half then been making some good adjustments at the half. Hopefully that'll continue.

you have to give credit to the Lions O, they are a good team.

Our D has been exactly what it was all year and you see what happens when we go up against a team that can ball like us. Swiss cheese.

It is what it is. I am not passing judgement until our season is over. Then look out... lol.

I guess the good news is that if we get by San Fran, every team left has problems on D. We can outscore them all. Atlanta has the best defense left in the NFC, and they're simply middle of the pack, and we've beaten it twice so far.

And if we get the Patriots in the Superbowl, it'll be just like the Lions game.

To paraphrase your post, we have an amazing defense and the only one entitled to a opinion here is you

"Amazing" is not a relative term, it is a comparative. So, our defense's ability to tackle better than me, but worse than Balt, Pitt, and San Fran does not make them amazing.

as for my opinion, I believe the 1st amendment gives me that entitlement
