The Viqueen Overtime Rule...
is being used for the first time with Pits & Den.
Ha Ha! Chilly Willy & Favre. |
"The Hartley Rule" between the first two teams to play an ovetime game.
|
All because of the Saints.
I can still hear Peter King boo-hooing and wringing his hands like a bleeding heart liberal that Favre and the Vikings didn't get a chance with the ball. |
& Denver wins it so we get to hear about Tebow ALL WEEK LONG!!!
The rule is amazingly confoluted... Each side gets a possession UNLESS the team with the first possession gets a TD. MWHA??? |
The Favre rule lasted about 6 seconds!! LMAO
|
I thought it was the Brett Frave Rule???
|
Tebow pulls off a miracle.

OT Playoffs new rule.
Well, easy to remember for me is OT, first team to score td, wins, Fg,'s safety, other teams gets to try for td. No sudden death until a team scores the td. Double OT? Umm. What happens then? Hope that never hapens. Ok, one thing we know for sure is all other teams were sure glad PittsSteelers and Broncos were the examples for this. Really. Tebow and Broncos made it quick, fast, and easy. That was over before it began good. :-) Very exciting game. With the new rule, will an OT Playoff game go into to again if no one scores td first? I can't remember that. Bob Costas posted and read it yesterday and added a lil humor there too. You cannot have the longest ever running OT Playoff game. All I know, want, and care about is go :bng: homer, hats off to Tebow and Broncos in OT. Got to give it to them. We, Saints fans, like and understand the underdog. I like Tebow. The media, I don't like about T. I agree with you homer and I will just change my channel for all Tebow reports this week. I got the story the first 25 times. Oh, Irvin and Deion are on NFL Net singing Teee-eee-eee-bow, ohh-ohhh. I am watching tonights' postshow and that is it. |
Tebow set a new record for the shortest overtime ever in the playoffs! LOL

Tebow wins playoff game, matty scores 0 points and loses. This day keeps getting better and better.

ITS FREAKIN' sudden death...
I don't see why it needed to be messed with... after all. You should win the game during regulation if you lose in OT then you deserved to lose. I can live with the rules... these new rules... fine. But now there is talk that they needed to be changed AGAIN... to make it more fair. FAIR!?!?! Why not give every team a SB trophy at the end of the year. |
the only thing they could do is go with the college format...
|
To have a rule in the playoffs that wasn't used during the regular season in which who made the playoffs is determined, is just horrible.

The Tim Tebow rule! |
Euphoria, I hear you.
It stands. Owners met and decided on this. I would have prefer the old rule to for all games. OT=sudden death. Game over. I am just throwing this out, possible reason for change...I don't know. New rule makes sure teams don't go for OT rather than just risk it all and win or lose and play that last 30 sec. or minute. Risk it all there. Win or lose there. With new PlayoffOT, even if you get a FG, game is not over. Or perhaps, teams are in OT, then media, fans get to see a real, full, qrtr. of football. I do not like OT. Never. What you said about teams winning if deserving or losing, then they did not deserve it anyway...these current Saints have done that OT over these past years. It is can be a win for either team. It is not good going to OT in any game. |
