Does anyone think they are still going to draft a FB?

Its awfully curious that they cut him now. Theres really no need to cut him now.
I think something is in the works we have yet to discover, and I ain\'t talking a 08 conspiracy theory either.
Interesting point- it\'s not like they need the excess cap room right this minute...or do they?

Only thing I can figure is that they are going to resign him or try and sign Juran Bolden. I don\'t think Gold is going to be a huge cap hit this year if they are going to bring him in.

Seems like they\'d have saved more money on this year\'s cap if they\'d have waited until after June 1 to cut DC. For me, this was a move I\'ve been wanting. As much as I wanted DC to succeed, he just hasn\'t done anything for us. He has been on the decline and will be less effective this year than he was in 2003. I\'d rather bring in someone that might not be quite as good now, but will have a chance to get better. It\'s all downhill for DC from here.

Look for McCarthy to use more 3WR sets and limit the amount of time Gash will be in there. I\'ve been wanting him to spread the field out for Deuce\'s benfit anyway so this just plays right to that.

Maybe Carter asked to be released so he could try and land on another team. Haslett, being a players coach probably granted his wish.

The answer is respect .

You do not jerk veteran players around in the N.F.L. , it has a way of haunting a franchise .

Dale came out and gave it his all , and he is just too far in years for the kind of money the Saints would have had to pay him to retain him , injury after injury .

He was released early out of respect , so he could potentially find another team to play with this year .
