Brees: I want "X" amount of money for "X" number of years or you're going to have to franchise me.

Saints: Rather, we'll give you the years, but we're bringing that "X" number down to "Y".

Brees: Nope. Needs to be "X" and "X". I gotta feed my kids.

Saints: Okay, here's what we'll do. The number is "X" and the years are "X", just as you wish, IF you win the Super Bowl. If not, then the years are still "X", but the number is "Y".

Brees: Aight 'den Loomie. "X" and "X" it shall be. I'm going to Disney Land...

So that's why he hasn't signed a deal. He's got a little wager with Loomis on whether or not he wins the Super Bowl. :mrgreen:

Brees will get whatever amount of money he wants. There is no way they don't pay him. He's an investment. He puts the fans in the seats & sells the Saints gear. All of this makes the Saints money. Need not worry, Saints fans......Brees will be here until retirement.

My point is he has a Super Bowl bet with Loomis. Damnit I thought it was clever. LOL

The ultimate bargaining chip is Z - "Sean Payton". If Sean ain't going anywhere, Brees ain't going anywhere. And Brees knows that if he asks for the Sun, Moon and the Stars there'll be little salary to build a team around him. I trust in both sides to arrive at a fair compromise, probably around the time the Lakers clinch a playoff spot :)

This is what I believe. It will all play itself out. I think that Sean and Drew are tied at the hip from now on.

It should go in Champions Square of course. THe question for me is when are they gonna unveil it? I think the day he is inducted into the HOF and also if they put one up of SP, should it be modeled after the pic of him signaling 1st down with his crutch?
