Ricky trades dreadlocks for bald look

MIAMI -- Ricky Williams returned from vacation in Australia without his dreadlocks.

The Miami Dolphins running back decided to get his head shaved during the trip, dispensing with a hairdo that ranked among the most distinctive in the NFL.

Now he's bald.

Williams has declined to give a reason for the change, but he'll be harder to tackle, because desperate defenders were known to grab at his dreadlocks.

Meanwhile, the Dolphins announced they signed offensive tackle Damien McIntosh to a six-year, $21 million contract.

McIntosh, who played for San Diego for his first four seasons, has had injuries to both ankles and missed three starts last season and six in 2002.

The 6-foot-4, 325-pound McIntosh is the third offensive lineman signed by the Dolphins this off-season.
