spagnoula,nolan,or jack del rio?
who do you think should be the saints DC next year and why?im still undecided but i am starting to lean more towards spags.
Spags would be the best one, I'd be happy to see GW go if we got spags.
He excels with getting pressure with just a 4 man rush, look at what he did in new York with the giants, their D line is constantly at the top in sacks now. He would play bump and run coverage Aswell and not give the receivers a 10 yard cushion on a 3rd and 3 |
Spags, without a doubt; but I would be pretty stoked with Del Rio as well.
Yep, any of the 3 work for me.
I'd say the same any of the 3. I just want to be a fly on wall 2 when coach Payton is talking to Williams.
We should make this a poll: Spags, Del Rio, Nolan, keep GW, or any other candidates out there.
My vote is for Spags also. Living in NY I saw most of the Giants games the year they won the Super Bowl. They won because of their defense. Since he left, they haven't been the same. His schemes are great and he would fit perfectly with us. |
Whoever it is I want them to make us sound, no more rollercoasters, my heart will explode!!!!! Just consistancy would be nice!!!!!
Del Rio just bought a house in New Orleans. Just sayin'!
that could be a good thing.
Yeah I would of made a poll but don't know how
mike nolan built that niner team thats going to the nfc championship. a. smith, gore, v. davis, p. willis, goldson, t. brown, j. staley, a. brooks, a. snyder were all drafted by mike nolan. he also brought in justin smith as a free agent in 2008.
any of them would be better than Gregg Williams. I'd like Spags or Nolan. I think being a head coach in J-ville for so long may have tainted Del Rio...lol j/p

Found out from my son that Jack Del Rio was at his high school checking it out for his son. There is at least one more Saints coach that has a son at the same school. Apparently its the school he will attend next year....so take that as you wish. I agree that the d should have stepped it up with 9 secs. left to go, but you have to admit the offense and special teams gave that game away. The defense did hold them back most of the game.
I've always liked Jack Del Rio. Would love to have him as our defensive coordinator. He has a knack for bringing out the best in mediocre players. Plus.....the guys a Saint at his core anyway!
If we got Spagnuolo, the rest of the league would be in trouble.
Spags, is too much like GW. HE might do it right but it is obvious with our current Defensive players it will take a year or so for him to hit stride... if he can hit a stride.
Nolan has a good eye but I don't know how well he coaches. The Broncos did well but it only lasted what? a year? I don't know if he has the gusto, but his dad did coach the Saints so that is a plus. Del Rio is a local guy who has not only played for the Saints but coached for them already. He has one season as DC and did awesome. So I say Del Rio |
Anybody but GW? Don't forget GW's son is coaching on the team as well. Does that mean we are hiring two coaches?
spags or del rio....
Del Rio is a great LB coach.....our most glaring need on D.

What did his son do anyway? |

Basically learning how to run an operation from the best in the business. |

Nothing wrong with learning from the Saints front office. |

No glaring need is teaching.
We did not play good sound defense at all. Missed tackles, DB's not looking for INT's first and foremost. HORRIBLE coaching and teaching. We were only good because what Sharper brought to the table. They need to hire him as a coach somewhere. You can teach everything... but no one did. |

Spags is the guy I want, After all he is proven to get pressure with the front four and dbs will have to play head up instead of 10 yards back.
