I think he is going to be a hard sale for any team to take him... but someone will. Will it be the Saints \'HIGHLY UNLIKELY\' but I guess anything is possible. But what I think would be more interesting is his take on playing in the black and gold. Facing the Bucs twice a year.

Before we signed Brian Young, I thought Sapp was the DT we would sign. Haslett said (last season) that Sapp is still the best defensive player in football. Which kinda shows how dumb our coach is...but...

We could rotate him in and out of the d-line then line him up as FB or TE on offense.
He would be able to put out some crushing blocks for Deuce.

I think this could potentially be a great signing, as long as it\'s done right. I think he is serviceable for at least 5 more seasons. I say sign him to a 4 or 5 year deal with a good signing bonus(so we save money under the cap). He will help Sullivan mature faster. Come on guys....sooner or later we have to make moves for marquee players, rather than hoping to find diamonds in the rough. That seems to be this regime\'s M.O. and it is hit and miss. Lately they\'ve been missing a lot more than hitting. Young is not an upgrade. It\'s top notch vereran players like Sapp that help young players realize their potential. This team seems not to want to create headlines when free agency comes around.

Arguably the best and also best-known player remaining in the unrestricted free agent pool, Tampa Bay Bucs defensive tackle Warren Sapp likely won\'t be unemployed much longer, ESPN.com has learned.


League sources told ESPN.com that Sapp on Friday night moved very close to agreement with the Cincinnati Bengals on a four-year contract. Some issues remain to be resolved but, barring a setback in the negotiations, the sources said, a deal could be struck on Friday or Saturday.


\"If everything goes right,\" said one source with knowledge of the contract discussions, \"something could happen in a matter of hours. There are still some other teams involved but it\'s moving pretty quickly now with (the Bengals).\"


On his Web site, Sapp had listed six franchises with which he would consider continuing his career. It has been clear for the past week that Cincinnati, which reportedly has made a four-year, $16 million offer, has been more aggressive than other suitors.

Two things - one, I would like nothing more than to see this clown get signed for the league minimum in July and have to go limping away somewhere like Arizona. Then all that talk will make him a laughing stock rather than respected (which for some strange reason he is in the NFL).


Second, if he does happen to come to NO, I will be very disappointed. However, he could help Sully. His terrible standards on sportsmanship don\'t necessarily make him a bad player. While I don\'t think he was ever as dominant as he makes himself out to be, he was a very good DT in this league for a while. He could help Sully develop. Further, with Grant, a nastier Sully, Sapp, and Howard, one thing will be certain - our Dline would be NASTY.
