He's not going anywhere. He wants to get paid but also he wants to win. It took several years to develop that chemistry with Payton and the offense. Payton has already stated his goals are long term to have a winning organization, not 2-3 years. You have to have a Brady or Manning caliber QB to make that a reality and those are extremely hard to come by in the NFL. Everybody knows without Brady or without Brees those teams will fall apart as we've seen this season with the Colts. Nobody wants that for the Saints. i think he will likely get slightly less than Brady with that being said.

Look, let's face it, Aaron Rogers got the MVP. I saw informal polls of media people and Rogers won the hearts of the media. |
Drew is a smart guy, he know's too big of a contract is going to hinder the team from signing the players they need on defense.
Drew is a man of character and class. he won't be cheap, but I don't think it will be anything too crazy. |
Just ask him. Brees knows he ought to paid what he is worth but he also know his production is dependent on a team. He takes the whole kitty and there is no team to help him further.

IMHO; Brees should be in the $18-20mm per year. I will leave it to the creative accounting of the FO as to how it impacts the salary cap.
Nicks will command more than Evans 7-year $56mm with $19mm guaranteed. Colston, will certainly command more than Moore's 5-year $21.5mm with $7mm guaranteed. As we all suspect, with a new NFL TV deal, salary caps will increase in out years. |

Maybe they can work a back end deal that won't hurt the cap so much, one that pays him a bunch when he retires as a Saint!

I like that Euphoria that's the best freaking answer! There is no dollar amount we civilians can even imagine.
