Cameron Jordan

I see him playing a lot more DT with Spagnuolo in the mix, especially on passing downs.

A big reason we drafted Jordan was due to his athleticism and versatility. I can definitely see him playing inside more this year to generate a pass rush.

Wait...

Pass rush and Saints... that doesn't make sense.

2012 should be a good year for him. i can not remember the number of times he was in the back field and seemed surprised to be there, froze and treated the QB with kit gloves. Rookie or coaching? we will soon find out

When with the Giants Spaggs used DE's across the front so I can see that move happening to get players like Jr on the field. Cam is stout enough against the run. This will one to watch.

I think Cam could be Justin Tuck 2.0... When you look at the 2 of them they are both similar in size and play a similar style. They are both known to be solid against the run from the DE position but neither of them have the great pass rushing speed to get around a tackle and get to the QB consistently. Before Spags came to NY, Tuck played 2 seasons with the Giants and recorded a total of 1 sack and 41 tackles. In Cam's 1st season he recorded 1 sack and 31 tackles. However; when Spags came to NY he shifted Tuck to DT in obvious passing downs. Tuck still played DE in early downs for his ability to stop the run. In the 5 seasons since this move, Tuck has recorded 44.5 sacks, recording double digit sack totals in 3 of those seasons. I think Spags can do the same thing with Cam, keep him in at DE early to help against the run then rotate him to DT in passing downs. The key to this working is getting 2 solid pass rushes at DE and a big DT. I think Galette could be one of those pass rushers but we need another one via free agency or the draft. We may bring back Franklin/Rogers, otherwise we need a big body on the D-line to take on blockers. With Tuck at DT the Giants pass rush causes a lot of pressure and I'm hoping we can see the same results with Cam playing DT.

Greg Romeus could be the other DE, assuming he is healthy, and can return to form. This guy was a pass rushing machine at Pitt (better than Jabaal Sheard) when he was healthy. Hopefully, we can have Junior at RDE (rushing from the QB's blind side--at least from a right-handed QB's blind side) and Romeus from the other side. We still have Will Smith for now, as well as Turk McBride and Jeff Charleston. Cam Jordan can play either DE or DT; and with Martez Wilson, and Jonathan Casillas playing LB, we could have a good pass rush next season, even without Roman Harper blitzing.

I don't think Jeff Charleston is going to make it this year. Unless I am forgetting something, he didn't make a play this year. I remember the last few years he always managed to get to the QB at least once. I don't remember him doing that this year.

I hope so, nice study of his D, thanks.

Now that Cam has a season under his belt I'm hoping he'll turn the corner. Literally.lol
