Eli is elite... maybe on the tail end of it but he is.
There isn't a whole lot of QB's with rings... he has two and counting. Its not about scaring someone its about winning!!! |
Besides elite, I think he's a very fancy dancer

After this win, I think it's fair to to put him up there with Brady, Brees, Rodgers & Peyton ... he may not have the finesse, but he's got the characteristics you want in your QB and you can't argue with (2) SuperBowl rings. |
Eli is elite and belongs in the Brady, Brees, Rodgers group. I might just add Stafford, but in my opinion Rivers doesn´t belong there anymore!

All I am gonna say about all the other QB being mentioned in this thread is, people wouldn't call Brees Elite until he won a SB. Just Saying.

Eli played a lot better this year, his decision making got better and so on - hes is legit.
|
No ring = Not elite.

No Eil is not elite
Elite should means top 10% of starting QB's in the NFL. 1.)Brees 2.)Rogers 3.)P. Manning (if healthy) if not Brady |

Eli is a great QB. With the team winning the Superbowl it helps his case for being labeled "great." Arguing that great QB's without rings are not great is a fallacy and poor logic. |

#2 I am not arguing ANYTHING. All I know is NO ONE wanted to call Drew elite in 2006 - 2008. It took him winning the SB in 2009 to START getting mentioned as elite and again, I am not talking about us as fans. So people mentioning names like Newton as elite is just moronic. (no offense to whoever said that) |
I blame John Clayton who wants to extend the "elite" moniker all the way down to Matt Ryan. :brood:

Eli is elite.
When the postseason comes, he has been clutch - twice, not a fluke. Yes, he's elite. His numbers are right there with the best - and he's sharing the ball in a balanced offense. |
Found this for comparison sake...you be the judge.

I mentioned Newton as a potential Elite "B". Like him or not for the whole Auburn thing.... The kid is a player. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of his. But I do recognize ability when I see it. He had a great year for a Rookie QB. If....IF he keeps up that performance and gets better; he will be a QB to fear. Almost 5,000 passing and rushing yards. He's finished 10th in passing yards. When I think of Elite QB's; I think of QB's that you want to have the ball in their hands when the game is on the line. No offense taken, by the way. |
Eli is a top 5 QB in the league. Does that make him elite? I don't think so. The elite status belongs to guys like Brady, Brees, Peyton Manning, & maybe.....maybe Aaron Rodgers if he puts up a few more big years. Warren Moon put up big numbers & won big games. Was he elite? My opinion is NO......same as Eli.

He was certainly elite in my eyes. |

I'm with Danno on Warren Moon.
He's the reason I liked Houston. Reason why Houston is still my "Saints" of the AFC. |
......but hey.....he's a Hall of Famer. ;-)
