The Oakland Raiders were denied permission by the New Orleans Saints to interview defensive line coach Bill Johnson.

I hope they would've let him go and hired Karl Dunbar instead, but it seems that he has already worked out a contract with the Jets, so maybe they're going to stick with Johnson.

Bill Johnson doesn't call the defenses, he only works with D-linemen on their techniques.

He's one of the most respected D-line coaches in the NFL. Why it didn't work well with Gregg Williams defense is surprising.

Spags knows exactly what Bill Johnson brings to the table. If he wants him, there's a good reason.

Defensive line pressure was non-existent for the most part last year. Was it the players or the techniques? To me, you either get pressure or not regardless of what the D Backs are doing. But I certainly am no expert.

Could be a sign of things to come .. might mean the front office feels the problem with the D/L is the personnel, not the coach, and getting a few more productive D/L is going to be priority in the upcoming draft and F/A market? Spags had to of had some say in this, gotta' trust his judgement and see where it leads.
