What Carl Nicks said he wants.
When asked what he wanted to make, Nicks said that Evans got like $57 million for 7 years, so he wants about that much but since Evans signed about two years ago, he wanted a little more to cover inflation. I thought that was funny. By the way, I heard this on a news clip on wwl on my way home, so I don't have a link and also if any of those contract numbers about Evans are wrong sorry, I'm just trying to repeat what Nicks said

Doing the math if they gave him 60 mil over 7 years it comes out to about 8.5 mil for the contract, hopefully they could spread his bonus plus salary over the back end of the deal .... in Loomis I trust

Hard to argue with that. Don't know if we have the money though.

I think he's gone. He's good but that's a hefty price to pay when there is a lot of value in offensive linemen in the draft, he himself was a 5th rounder. After they let Goodwin walk I think this is a no brainer.

Can't wait to for the business season to start.

I heard what you heard. Your report was pretty much spot on. |

I say pay the guy what he is worth - Evans+ money - but find a way to make it as cap friendly as possible.
The Saints need to use the draft picks they have on the defensive side of the ball, and it would be nice to go into the season with an established O-Line, contrary to the constant state of flux and uncertainty that was the first have of the past season. |
