Super Bowl.

My only unknown was whether Madonna would break her hip lip-synching.

To say that game was ugly and uninteresting would be to diminish my ex-wife's personal achievements.

I did see her almost fall.. So she did come close

agree.....so boring i wanted to sleep.

It was a tight game. I am so glad NYG won.

Half-time, I did not watch. I knew, just knew Madonna was going to give a crocth grab, sexual act with her gay dancers, something.

I saw on yahoo that Madonna's singer, MIA, gave the F-U sign loud and proud.

I am not OldMaidish. I am not pruddish. I wish I had selected another name for myself. It is not a reflection of my attitude .

However, I am sick and tired of these dam n half-time performers using SB half-time honor to doing sexual things, vulgar, street, whatever. Same goes for those singing the Nat. Anthem and America The Beautiful.
I think if you see a performer like Madonna , you should get some low and nasty performance bits because it is her show and that is what she and others do. You don't buy a ticket and go if you do not want to see that.

SB is not an entertainers' show. If the NFL gets these kind of people, then the viewers get this.

Blake and Miranda Shelton did a wonderful job at singing the national Anthem.
Kelly Clarkson did well too.

Actually, I watched the halftime show. I wasn't going to, but the intro caught my attention, and I had to watch. Now I did not see the FU sign the Old Maid was talking about, but the halftime show was really not that bad. It was a hell of a lot more interesting than the first three quarters of the game. I really cringed when I heard that Madonna was doing the halftime show, and I REALLY was NOT looking forward too it, but it turned out that it was not that bad. Not like that "Who" crap we saw a couple of years ago. And it certainly could have been worse.

It was boring to me because I had no connection whatsoever to either team. I could have cared less who won but I got togethe with family, enjoyed some good food and beer and watched football. Every so often I would Exclaim " The saints should have been in this game".

My wife watched it the whole thing. I feel asleep at halftime and woke up looking at Christina Aguilera's uhhh... face. Yea, face.

I really thought it was a little boring only because I did not care who won. The game itself was not a bad game, just not a high scoring passing barrage.

I am not a big Madonna fan but I thought the show itself was not so bad either.

It is all a matter of perspective. It has to be...because from the moment the game kicked-off to the final hail Mary, my heart rate had to be around 200...the whole time.

If there is any lesson for the Saints to learn, it would be that the game has to be played on both sides of the football. The hiring of Spags tells me that they have already acknowledged that.

I know, I know...it is entertaining to see Drew throwing darts all over the field and lighting up the scoreboard...but when the other team's QB's suddenly become Johnny U's themselves, you have to believe that it is time to spend some serious cheese on the D side of the ball.

Yes the game was boring and I knew if the Giants kept it close they’d win and they did. Typical Elie play, I just hope while the Saints players were watching the game the replay of the last 4 min of the 49er game is replayed over and over even though if the Saints were in the Super Bowl it would have been a track meet

I didn't think it was boring.

After kicking off with probably the best Nation Anthem I've heard in YEARS, it was a pretty well-played game, down to the wire, a bit to to discuss at the end (should Bradshaw of scored or taken a knee?)...overall a lot to like.

The hard part for me? I kept thinking about how our Saints would have smoked either of these teams and won by about 20 points. ARGH!!!!

Madonna actually looked her age trying to move around the stage. Not impressed with the either the game or halftime show.

The game was close, so in that regard it was good...good for the NFL and for ratings...but I would hope for a better quality of play between the supposed two best teams in the league. Execution was poor, and I think that had more to do with it than either team playing exceptionally well on defense. Neither team was sharp. How many "12 men in the huddle" flags were thrown? Just stupid stuff like that.

And I'm no Madonna fan, but IMO that was the best halftime show in years. If they really wanna make me happy they can let Zooey perform the Anthem. :-)

I don't disagree ... my wife enjoyed it. We can't escape halftime show controversy, it seems, however.

It was a pretty good game as far as recent SB games are concerned, definitely better than last year's game, which was a total snooze fest.

But I was disappointed with the commercials... ;-)

I gotta tell you, sf, that I understand the fascination with Zooey...but in that video, not so much. Too much make-up...or something.

If she could find a way to recapture that look she had in "Almost Famous"...that's when I thought she looked like a living doll. Do you think she's too old to look like that again...I'm not sure.

Dude! Its a webcam. No editing. No special effects. No audio equipment. No nada. What makes Zooey so great is that she can go made up, plain, cutsie, professional, casual, retro, hip, hippie, she can do it all.

Zooey rocks it baby. Hollywood can make her as old or as young as it wants to I suppose, but her style off camera is the trick. Is she too old to play a 60's stewardess? I don't think so, but I'm not sure she'd do another role like that one. When I'm down "OC" way next month I'll ask her for you. LMAO

Danno, I can agree with just about everything you said but for Chris Collinsworth.

Al Michaels was the professional in the booth, but Collinsworth was doing his usual hating and bandwagon commentary during the game.

Bandwagon as in when the Giants were up, the Pats were a "troubled team," when the Pats were up Tom Caughlin and the Giants were weak.

I simply do not like the guy. Also, don't think his hate is isolated to the Saints, he's an equal opportunity hater and bandwagoneer.

Game was boring. The game just felt like it dragged on and on, too slow and pretty conservative. and Zooey is not that hot....lol

Game was good. Boring because it wasn't the Saints. Madonna was trashy (as always) however, she did perform the best halftime show that I can remember. Happy for Eli just so he can say "SUCK IT" to all the ESPN reporters who gave him crap about calling himself an elite QB.

He told me it was perfectly healthy and congratulated me on choosing such a lovely young lady as opposed to some slut. It seems I obtained points for aiming so high. :mrgreen:
