he looks to be a nice project player and worth a pick. DT that big and fast are hard to find.

Well, Ellis is listed at 6-1 and 307 lbs, while Hicks is listed at 6-6 and 320 lbs, so there's quite a difference in size, and more than likely in mobility as well, between the two. He would be a project, but perhaps Spags would be the right guy to nurture his mental side to the same level his physique already is..? |

True, but they desperately need a DT or two, who can really make a difference, and the draft is the cheapest way to get those game changing players. Also, there's the added benefit of teaching the guy the particular system the Saints/Spags uses as their first pro system, and not having to deal with the stuff they've been taught by other DCs in the past. I think Spags can make a huge difference in this aspect of player development, or should I say, I hope he can make a huge difference. |
Anything that would be an improvement other than play with what we have mentality. Combo of size and speed looks good but could he be that good against the talent in the S.E.C. not so sure. Looks like he may be worth a chance though.

Burfict sure laid an egg at the Combine ... wouldn't do the bench press and 300lb+ offensive linemen were beating his 40-time of 5.1 or something. Add this to his propensity for personal fouls and he's quite the draft choice ... not.
