This also means that the Saints could tag Nicks, have a deal done midway through the off season, and re-work Colston by the time free agency starts.

I figured 8 would have been the starting number. 7 is a great deal.

The guy is smart, wants to stay a Saint ... and that's hypothetically less then the $5mil + $4mil in incentives Randy Moss is looking for too ... I think Colston is marking his turf and letting the competition know there's no need to come around New Orleans looking for a job.

That sounds like a great deal.

I see no reason not to sign Colston if that's what he is asking.
