Arrington back for 2012
Saints re-signed exclusive rights free agent WR Adrian Arrington.
Though he's had tough luck with injuries, Arrington has flashed playmaking ability in preseason action since landing in New Orleans as a seventh-round pick in 2008. With Marques Colston and Robert Meachem both set to hit the open market, Arrington could receive a significant bump in playing time in 2012. Source: Brian McIntyre on Twitter |
I think he'll take the place of meachem since I believe Colston will be resigned.

this might be bad news

Payton has had a lot of patience with AA, I hope it pays off, he surely knows the playbook by now.
|
Oh good...... another year of sitting on the bench and getting in on a few plays! YEAH!!!!
|
The good thing is that we now know that even practice squad guys get the SB ring, so he won't be left out at the end of the season.
|
Who cares. Dude gets hurt every year. He looked like **** in the 49ers game. I would rather take a gamble on Morgan. I also couldnt care less if Meachum gets the boot.
|
Good insurance signing. I'm sure he didn't cost much. It certainly doesn't guarantee he makes the team.
|
Another year to attempt to learn routes for Arrington. Yahoo.
Now Morgan managed to impress me in preseason last year. I'm all for his chance at the big time. Meachem and his long-strike plays are going nowhere. Alaska |

It was my (poor) attempt at humor - meaning that AA will once again fail to make an impact this coming season and that he'll be on the sidelines watching the Saints win the SB at the Superdome. |
Arrington is likely being signed due to Courtney Roby more than likely being gone. This is an easy contract for the Saints if they do lose Meachem or Colston, even if they don't, they can develop him.

Some people understand where there bread is buttered.

Last chance son. You better make the most of it.

i think every last one of us is pulling for AA he's made above the national avg in paychecks the last 4 years in this leaque. he just needs that 1 game where everything gos his way and his carreer is in motion. he hurt himself coming out that 1 year early. he's here hes ready hes a saint. he will be a lot more productive in the scheme of things then bringing in talent with no fusion with paytons plays, get r done AA or we'll both be out of town.lol
|
I'm a glass half empty kinda guy but I think this will be a breakout year for AA
|
This is sound, prudent move and should'nt be read as a bad move at all...
He just needs reps to get better and they may be there if other vets (i.e. Henderson) are released to sign Colston... |
It's AA's year...
|
everyone was on the morgan bandwagon before he got hurt, but the guy was burning up the yardage at the ease of third stringers/cuts to be mostly so to grade him a superstar to be is a long way off in my opinion. my money would be on AA to get huge payraise in playing time in 12. becuse someone or 2 will not be in saints uniform this season. henderson, meachum mst likely if they are really serious in signing colston.

Arrington is still going to have to bring it.
Morgan and Andy Tanner will be after that spot. Not to mention other hungries that get scooped up in the late draft and FA. Arrington is slow out of breaks and doesn't seem to fit the special teams profile. He was cheap and worth the ink. I hope he does elevate his performance status. |
