Besides the Warner Hit ...
AND THAT WAS LEGAL!!! Tell me 1 other play in the last 3 years that has been "illegal" or cheap that wasn't fined by the NFL!?!? I think it was stupid to have a bounty, but I'd like to actually see what the impact was during an actual game.
I know many will point to the Warner hit (it was legal) and Favre during the NFC Championship game (and I'll concede on that one), but what else has there been that makes this such a huge deal? Other than the fact that it was uncovered? Who the hell has N.O. hit that was an illegal hit? Who? Which players were carted off the field because of the Saints being "dirty?" I know there is someone out there that can answer this ... I've got to be honest though --- I don't remember any besides Warner and Favre ... Anyone? |
The high-low on Favre.
|
I just made this point in another thread. If you believe the hit on Favre was intentional, it seems like ONE illegal hit could cost us any shot at a championship for the foreseeable future.
I agree the idea of bounties is disgusting but if it doesn't seem to have resulted on dirty play on the field, why are we being completely demolished? Because we're not the Goddamn Patriots? Ridiculous...just ridiculous. |
I can care less about bounties unless it's something dirty that happens at the bottom of a pile....which stuff does happen there. Everything else is out in teh open and if it's dirty enough you get ejected, suspended, and fined. Ask that detroit player Suh. I think it's a stupid charge.

This is dumb just plain dumb
|
In the 3 years that GW was here, all I can think of is the high-low on Favre, I don't remember any other "illegal" hits
|
The high low on favre is the only one i can think of but if you watch that play, bobby McCray and remi ayodele do not see each other and are flying towards favre, both making the tackle at the same time just as favre released the ball. You can't tell me that was a planned hit, they both tried to make a play and had no idea the other one was also there.
Plus everyone including me was sick of this favre love fest, we did the NFL a favour by showing him what hard hitting football can do |
Good riddance to Williams.

I think Freeman was pissed once about a low hit. The main problem now is every time we unintentionally hurt someone, everyone is gonna think it was intentional. |
Bull ****, These guys were in their meeting room placing wagers on who makes the first big play and the nfl and the media have turned it into the biggest load of crap since spygate. These idiots said there are 5000 page documents, evidence, and testimony. Where? They also said the saints were warned to stop doing this. When? If they were warned of something of this nature, seeing that the league is all about safety now wouldn't you think that would be news worthy!!!! This is the first the public has heard of it!!! Load of crap. Super Bowl XLIV belong to us, and no media bull**** can have me believing otherwise, and if thats what gets you SB trophys I would do it again and again.

If the league didn't cater to the golden-child and made up the Brady Rule, then the Hi-Lo hit on Favre would be a non-issue.
As I have posted before, all that matters is that the bounty was in place. There is no denying the bounty is true. Benson has already said that he ordered it to be stopped immediately; I could see Benson firing Loomis for insubordination over this. |

That being said, was anyone on the team fined by the league? NOPE! And none of the other "bounty" hits were either at $50K per, so does it really matter than some dumbass GW gave players $1500 to hit a guy ... Anyone who has ever played the game knows that defensive players want to absolutely destroy people --- The issue for me is not that they wanted too, but in that they publicly and happily admitted it. That's not very politically correct and we all know that America is a PC NATION!!! |

And Iīm glad we got it.... |
Every team tries to after the other QB, thatīs just part of the game.
|
Favre said it was no big deal. And Warner said it's been going on a long time. It's nothing new. It's part of the game.errrr.......was part of the game.
|
It was the playoffs, you win at any and all costs. I disagree with the bounty but not the over aggressive play of the defense during that run
|
Harper blasting Steve Smith in the endzone last season well after the play was over. Seemed pretty damn unnecessary but with this bounty talk it's making a little more sense.

It was stupid and unnecessary move on Harper's part no question on that part. |
He drilled him dude... for no clear reason. Anyways, the original post asked for an example that wasn't fined and if I remember correctly Harper was fined for that hit so I take back my post.
|
You can't possibly think that hit was supposed to a "stretcher hit?"
If so, Harper is a much worse tackler than I thought. Oh, and for reason I would say that it was a divisional game and S.S. is arguably one of the most irritating players in the NFL along with Roddy White. And if I remember correctly, S.S. had been running his mouth to some other Saints' defensive player a couple of plays before that hit. |
This **** is getting way out of control. All the media outlets are making it out to seem like we killed people. According to fatass Micheal Moore, our guys were paid to "hurt or maim an opponent." Maim? Who the **** did we maim? This is getting to the level of ridiculousness.

Let the Saints-Haters lap it up. It won't change the facts about us winning our Championships, both Superbowl and Division and Conference. Let's stand tall and tell the Haters to kiss our asses. |

Maybe the offense should have had a bounty to take out GW during the 40 whiners game, a-la like the Payton in the Bucs game!! |

Was it Carmichael who placed that bounty? |
