What gives you the crazy idea that Payton would be gone?

He may have to coach from the couch for a couple of games because he and Loomis were warned about this already. I'm reasonably sure that the kitty was GW personal checking account and not the organizations petty cash box, but because they had knowledge of it, and didn't put a stop to it, Goodell will feel obligated to make a "statement", and if nothing else, appear to have player safety as one of his highest priorities as he hands out fines and suspensions. I just hope he doesn't toss the baby while trying to make his point.

I still think the delay was all about the same agency making sure that NICKS was not getting the tag, and not about this scandal...although I don't like the tag on Brees because it doesn't put the tinfoil hat "Brees/Payton are going to Dallas together" rumors to rest. It would have been nice to bury that rumor once and for all.

Sure Condon knew......that's why this is looking like such a mess.

I was just listening to espn I think Rasillo and Van Pelt. They were downplaying the whole thing and said that the fault falls on Williams and he should be the one held responsible. They said holding players responsible and suspending them is ludicrous because it happens in most francises. No mention of Payon or Loomis.
