If I were the Saints I'd give him two weeks. Sign it or take a walk. I simply would not have my franchise held hostage after I made a very fair offer.

I might be a little vindictive in my thinking, but I'd have him sit out the season if he refuses to sign, because the tag doesn't count toward the cap in that situation (at least I don't think it does).

Yes he has to sign it by a certain date other wise the team can lower the amount of the tag and subject him to fines for not signing.

Smart move by the organization though on several levels.

Bree's only play or course of action now is to NOT SIGN it. If he signs it the ball is in the Saints court they don't have to work out a deal essentially they have him for 14.4 million why work out a deal that could pay him 23 million??? So its a tactical move on Bree's part to not sign and hope to paint the organization in a bad light for not giving Bree's the keys to the dome.

Wait it out it will all work out in the long run. Bree's isn't the guy to miss out on training camp.
