SCOTT FUJITA: on Cleveland radio this morning

Says "he paid money into the bounty system".

Euphoria 03-07-2012 08:34 AM

I find it very hard to believe Darren Sharper saying he knew NOTHING about it.

I think the reason Sharper denies it is because the money he collected for all those INT"s. Hello IRS.

Well sharper did say now, that a couple of 100 here and there for ints. Fumbles etc. Not just to put someone out of a game.

Darren Sharper -

"I don't like the term "bounty" being used about the program that we had," Sharper said."Was it overseen and controlled by the coaching staff? Yes, it was.
But this is something that the players came up with. We wanted to give guys an extra motivation, an extra reward of making big plays in big games. And those big plays included sacks, interceptions, scoring touchdowns on defense...things we did throughout my time there that allowed us to win in the fashion that we won."

Theformer Saints star pointedly said that there was never a "cash for injuries" system that is being described in the media.

"In no way...did we come into the room before the game, and say, 'if a guy hurts this player, their best player...we're going to reward that guy for doing that.'

At no time was that said during any of the meetings that I was a part of in the New Orleans Saints organization."

By the definition of the rule...

even this is illegal.

SapperSaint 03-07-2012 08:54 AM

The thing you have got to hand to Sharper is that he wasn't throwing the team under the bus.

That earns him a little respect in my book. What happens in the locker room, stays in the locker room.

Not when its illegal or wrong.

You have a responsibility to the game and to everyone who plays the game. They were even warned to stop it and they did not.

Ok. Then the NFL, no wait. The Government needs to step in and outlaw gambling on all sporting. All NFL players need to under-go mandatory lie detectors and if they ever KNEW of any kind of "Bounty, Money Pool, Player insentive program", they should all be suspended and fined.

This type of action that the Saints have infected the NFL with is so gross and morbid that the NFL should disolve the New Orleans Saints and remove any and all history of this team or it's players from the history books. Only the War Crimes commited by the Nazi Party are historically worst than what the Saints have done.

Come on Euph, you are starting to sound like Skip Blayless.

Euphoria 03-07-2012 09:52 AM

WTF are you talking about???

Nazi's really?

You do know that most if not all corporations have some kind of policy banning office pools right? Its to prevent employees from having issues or problems if and when things go bad. It protects the corporation. NFL is no different and they have the rule on the books.

You don't cover up a crime... that in itself is a crime. So Penn State should have kept raping boys "in the locker room". Oh wait they did... lol.

I'm not arguing with you Euph..... I got nothing but love for you brother.

It just seems as if this is a heart attack of an issue that this happened/happening and that the Saints invented it. Don't get me wrong, I do not give a stamp of approval on it. I think this started out as some "In House" fun and turned into a pile of steaming poo.

After this came out in the open, it explains why our defense wasn't "Tackling" anybody. They were too busy worrying about getting the "Hit of the Game" money. This whole thing got out of hand. From beginning to the end of it. SP should have said, "Hey, enough is enough. This is affecting you guys' performance to the point that you are hitting, trying to strip the ball instead of tackling and that men, is Bull Hockey in my book. CUT IT OUT OR YOU'RE OUT".

This couldn't have come out at a more wrong time. It's almost as if a soap opera writer wrote what is going on with this team right now.
