Thanks for the effort. You helped bring a championship to New Orleans. Good luck to you. I hope you get paid the most possible. And if it's in Dallas, we'll both be sitting on the couch watching the Saints in the playoffs. LOL.

In the end it really doesn't matter how much the team has been in contact with him or not. Free Agency hasn't even begun yet. He is not going to sign anything with any team until after the "shopping around" begins and he can see what kind of offers he has. There would be no point in giving him an offer now, or back in February etc. Even if they offered him the MOON right now, he still wouldn't sign it, until he sees what other teams can offer. Plus the Saints don't even know the cap number yet.
I take this tweet to mean simply that he is physically back in New Orleans, which means he is probably visiting/partying with old friends and teammates this weekend, and since he is in town I expect that means he will likely meet with Loomis sometime during the coming week, once free agency has officially begun. PS Nicks' agent is NOT Tom Condon, Nicks is represented by the same AGENCY as Brees but not by the same agent/person. People get that confused a lot. |

Drew takes up less cap space on a tag than he would if he were signed, Nicks has a better shot at getting signed in the current situation than with a full Brees contract. |

Wait...he isn't about to get banned for this "pay-for-performance" program will he? |

resign Bushrod and move him to guard. Put Brown on the outside. Alot cheaper and a good stop gap. |

I'd rather see them move Strief to guard and put Brown on RT, but even more than that I'd go with either DLP or Tennant at center and the other one at LG - that is if we are choosing from just the current roster. But I have to admit that I don't know much about this guard named Nick Howell they signed to reserve/future contract in January, so he might be a "diamond in the rough" for all we know. Second year pro from USC (6-5, 295lbs), has been waived by the Titans who signed him as an UDFA and then by the 49ers. His pro-day results from 2010 were: a 5.01-average 40, a 31 1/2-inch vertical, an 8-11 broad jump, a 4.43 short shuttle, a 7.36 three-cone drill and 38 bench press reps. But no way should they start Bushrod at LG - no way. |
