What does a franchise have to do to earn some respect?

The Panthers exceeded everyone’s expectations last season, kept winning when most thought that they would flame out and eventually came within a few plays of winning the Super Bowl. They have upgraded their secondary and return all the key players from last year’s squad. Yet there aren’t many out there who believe Carolina has a real shot at making reservations for Jacksonville come next January.
