Ten possible teams for Tebow. PFT

Ten off-radar potential destinations for Tebow | ProFootballTalk

4. The Saints.

What better way to push the Bountygate mess off the front page than to give coach Sean Payton a unique weapon?

Once, of course, Payton’s likely suspension ends.

I think they are madly in love with us.

|Mitch| 03-19-2012 08:51 PM

I just don't see us signing him, but I've been wrong before...

ChrisXVI 03-19-2012 08:52 PM

This is such garbage that I can't even get mad.

The only idea worse than the Saints signing Tebow would be for Brees to say on ESPN that for $20 he would tackle Goodell below the knees!

Tebow wouldn't last long in the quarter........

gandhi1007 03-19-2012 09:46 PM

I'd put my money on Jacksonville being Tebow's destination.

I agree, JAX seems like the most likely destination for him, since he has the hometown thing going for him and they desperately need to fill some seats in the stadium.

Also, Gabbert wasn't that impressive in his rookie season, and he looked really uncomfortable at times - almost like he was afraid.

But they'd have to change things on the offensive side quite a lot in order for Tebow to have any chance of being successful, and I'm not so sure that Mularkey - being a new HC - wants to put all his chips on Tebow.

This is supposed to be funny, not serious. Relax i chuckled. If tebow signs here e could walk over to the quarter and hold up signs telling us we are all going to hell.

Euphoria 03-19-2012 11:19 PM

Scratching my head because some seem to think its the top 10 most likely places.

Some people think these guys are actually reporting news when in fact they are ********ing around like we do in the offseason..... Not so much here though.

Tebow as a fullback,TE,or wildcat option sounds like a good idea to me!

... could be a linebacker too ... the Tebow-experiment at QB is over, let's see some Tebow-ing after a good tackle!

TheOak 03-20-2012 06:41 AM

What is Tebow going to do? Wash or hold Brees's balls?

He is not worthy of even that.

Seer1 03-20-2012 07:04 AM

This move would have very little to do with Tebow's success and everything to do with ticket sales. Jacksonville dreams of being able to play in front of someone other than their own families and Tebowmania would sure help out in that department.... for a while. If they do bring him in, they'd better buff up their defense quite a bit. A strong defense in a very weak division was what really got Denver to the playoffs last year.

On our side of the field, does that kid have any hands? He and Jimmy on each end of the line playin' catch with Drew could give defensive coordinators nightmares.

Gabbert had two weeks of practice to prepare for the NFL. He had no weapons other than a RB that can't do it all on his own. He had no protection. I would be gun shy to if I were him.

Andy Dalton walked into a perfect situation. He has a decent line, an awesome WR, an awesome TE, and a decent running game in Benson.

jcp026 03-20-2012 08:31 AM

Absolutely not. I wouldn't waste a 7th round pick by trading it for him.

I believe he would start catching fire about Canal St.

IDK ..... everything I'm seeing says 'No', but you did call Manning to the Broncos, so I'm putting my money on Tebow winding up in J'Ville,

SaintsBro 03-20-2012 01:04 PM

You know what, if this happened in a reloading "Sean needs more weapons" year, I could maybe kinda see it happening. But absolutely not with all the stuff on the Saints' plate right now with free agents and the defense and the Gregg Williams bountygate affecting things. I highly doubt there will be any crazy trades or free agent pickups, only ones that make absolute ironclad sense or are maybe even kinda boring.
