Ok,were do we go now?
Some on here and elsewhere think we are done for the year and will not be able to compete with the coaching and possible player suspensions. Do we use this as a chance to rebuild the team by trading away the older players(inc Drew) for draft picks and young talent and use this season as a transition season to get the players used to a new system and city.Or is this a defeatist attitude that will place the team on a slippery slope to mediocrity? If we went down that route who could be picked up or what picks could be gained? Or do we fight though everything and go after the big prize in spite of Goddell and the League |
I don't think you will be mediocre. It's just realistically you have to set your mindset that 2012 will be tough. Player and coach suspensions, lost draft picks. You won't win in 2012 and could be in line for a high 2013 pick. You don't have the 2nd but you do have the 1st. 2013 is your year to look forward to. Not this year though. It's a lost year in every way.

I don't believe that for a second, maybe that would be true with some other franchises, but the homer in me doesn't see that happening with the Saints. A lot of people don't realize how strong of a franchise the Saints are now, and they will find ways to overcome this type of an adversity with the remaining staff and players. The Saints might not get all the way to the SB, but that is the case each and every year for all of the 32 teams - I firmly believe that they still have more than a good chance of winning the NFC South. |

I think he was referring to the 1st round pick in the 2013 draft. |

Traded our first and drafted Mark Ingram... Cameron Jordan and Mark Ingram were our 2 first round picks in the last draft
Goodell probably would have taken that if we still had it |
