Out of the 6 WORST defenses in the regular season last year three teams made the play offs, two were in the Super Bowl and and one won the Super Bowl.

I agree with your observation on the defenses, teams like the Patriots, Saints & Lions have shown you can have somewhat successful seasons with less then stellar defenses. You'll see a lot of 40/burger games, but that's what the league wants, high scoring shootouts.

New Orleans already knows they can shoot it out, the glass is still half-full. Let's wait and see what actually comes down from the league and what the Saints plans are before throwing in the proverbial towels.

...and even then I wouldn't throw in the towel.
I've been a Saints fan for a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng time.
I've seen a lot of crazy stuff and this gets tossed in the bag with it.
I'll be cheering for the Black&Gold with expectations of success EVERY week.
Even if Brees decides to break the camels back and hold out, I'll be riding the
Daniel's/Whoeverhisnameis' band wagon for all it's worth.
NEVER give up, NEVER quit, NEVER give in.
Saints fan until I die! Give me everything that comes with it.
I hope it's for, at a minimum, another 47 years.
