Class-action suit coming...

If this screws up negotiations with Brees and he walks after 2012.

Either that or it is time for pitchforks and torches...

papz 03-21-2012 12:49 PM

One of my first thoughts was how this gives Brees that much more leverage. Hopefully it doesn't come down to giving him a blank check and him milking us dry.

arsaint 03-21-2012 12:51 PM

I would like to think he has a deal and throws that nugget of good news out on Friday to keep some of the WhoDat faithful off of the ledge.

Talk about a major PR win for him if he did. (Hint to you Tom Condon, you bloodsucking leech).

Law Suit, but not Class Action.

A Class Action lawsuit requires a large number of people (a Class) or group, usually more than 100, affected by the negligance of anther.

But I do see legal action in our future pending an appeal to the NFL.

Harshest action taken by the NFL ever!

Can we appeal or will Goodell deny just to make a point...

arsaint 03-21-2012 12:53 PM

I bet we can get 100 people off this site to join in! :)

Someone needs to target Roger's car and first-born. Can a fan base get a commissioner fired? It seems like anything we'd do would just draw attention.
I'd say a boycott of NFL apparel, NFL network and Sunday Ticket would be a good start. I'd love to fly to New York and throw oranges at his face.

crawgator 03-21-2012 12:56 PM

I agree us as fans should file a class action against the NFL, For not giving us a fair advantage, in watching and supporting our team

That certainly would rebuild his image in a heart beat. Being called Breesus was enough ass kissing, now people will start sending him their first borns. He's certainly in prime position to make out as a bandit in every way possible.

No need to fight that dirty, it's just a game. I'd settle for a group of us taking a road trip to tee-pee the NFL office.

Occupy Goodell!

I don't know, I'd bet we could get ALL SAINTS FANS involved in a class suit, but then again GOD-dell and the NFL, HAVE NO CLASS.:D

jeanpierre 03-21-2012 01:38 PM

Not a class action lawsuit...

Have everyone and their second cousin sue Goodell individually in small claims for maximum allowable - such as "I built my man-cave to enjoy Payton-led Saints Football this season but now I'm out expenses for the new fridge, beer tap, and the Hooters Girls appearance fees totalling $3,100usd; Goodell can't send proxy legal representation and he must make an appearance or risk losing by default...

He'll be in court until 2112...

No Class action suit, need to file lawsuit in Federal Court for Breech of Contract by the NFL to its' season ticket holders. When we had to re-up for season tickets this had not been done. I wonder if the league and the Saints waited to announce the punishment after the deadline to re-new season tickets. I feel that there is a breech of contract because we were certainly expecting Sean Payton to be the head coach for the 2012 season, not to mention the players that have yet to be suspended.

You're dreaming. This isn't the first time the coach in March hasn't been the coach when the season started. Usually it's because they've been fired, but that's beside the point - it's just as much (or as little) a breach of contract.

Could one fan base get a Commissioner fired? Not when the other 31 fan bases are on the Commissioner's side. Check out other fan sites - your sympathisers are outnumbered.

bobdog86 03-22-2012 09:22 PM

We are certainly outnumbered in the court of public opinion, I'd still drive from my home in Washington State to NFL HQ in support of a massive sit-in or an "occupy HQ" where we are free to voice our displeasure, pee wherever we want and maybe drop a deuce on the flowers if it so moves us!
