On the same day that the NFL unveiled staggering sanctions against Saints coach Sean Payton and others for maintaining a bounty system from 2009 through 2011, the Vikings have dumped a member of the 2009 Saints defense.

The team announced that defensive tackle Remi Ayodele has been released.

Ayodele signed as a free agent with the Vikings in 2011. He was due to earn base salaries of $2.2 million in each of the next two seasons.

He appeared in 16 games, with 13 starts, during his only season with the Vikings. And, yes, that’s him striking a pose for the Saints on one of the many occasions Brett Favre was getting acquainted with the carpet at the Superdome during the 2009 NFC title game.

Get rid of him before he might be suspended? We're in the same boat with Vilma...

Yeah if you have a former Saint player on your roster you might as well cut them instead of them taking up a roster spot on your team until the suspension is over.

The only problem with this is that many of the players can't serve their suspension unless they are actually on a roster. You can't sit out games if you aren't in the NFL.

Hmmm I didn't think about the players that have rolled onto other teams. Wonder if Fujita is in trouble.

Ayodele is the first... Who else? Fujita obviously. Usama Young?? That sucks for the Browns lol. I wonder if any team will touch Porter in free agency now that he has this stink on him.

Jenkins, Harper, Greer, Vilma are four more that I see suspended... This is where Goodell ruins our season...

Big hits don't matter here... We're kind of already seeing that we're getting punished for intent. Wouldn't surprise me if every defensive player was fined just for being coached by Gregg Williams lol.
