I was thinking the same thing when I first read that earlier. Prisco will probably think it would be an Apocalyptic event in the history of the Saints if Parcells filled in for a season.

I personally would rather the Saints promote Carmichael or Spags, but if they would rather concentrate on offense and defense I understand.

Florio 'says' he wants the Saints to promote from within. It may be that he thinks the Saints have a better chance of a losing season if they do.

His argument that Payton is worried that if Carmichale or Spags win a Super Bowl Benson may fire him is thinner than a half-dollar after inflation.

If Payton were to be fired, he could have virtually any HC job in the NFL that he wanted.

IDK, as much as I have come to not value the opinions of Florio, Clayton, King, Prisco, Yasinskas, et ..., I think you do have to present a certain amount of their stuff as outside perspective, 2nd opinion and/or just to get a feel what might be coming down the pike ... you don't have to agree with it or like it, but you should know about it so you can evaluate it from your point of view & blow the talking heads/parrots out of the water when they come trolling ... and mark my words, they will.
