Anybody catch any of the NFLE game tonight? Frankfurt @ Rhein. As I write this it's at the half and Rhein, quarterbacked by JT O'Sullivan, is up 21-10. Let me tell you guys, JT looks good. I'm impressed.

I'm not sure of his exact stats, but at the half he's thrown for roughly 14-20 for 150 yards and 2 TDs. He also leads his team in rushing with 3 scrambles for 23 yards. Overall, the guy just looks good. He's got a good pocket presence and seems smart. He hasn't made any dumb throws, though some have been less than stellar in their delivery. More than anything else though, the guy is fiery. Brett Favre-esque in the way he runs around the field and hits teammates, emotional and fist pumping... I like this guy. I hope he keeps developing b/c he looks like he could be a good NFL QB.

i always thought JT would be a good back up... and just so you know, the Saints drafted him based on his career, not his combine

The guy looks good to me. Hell, he just threw a 26 yard strike to D Lewis on 3rd down. He\'s poised and looks good. If he was forced into duty for the Saints, I wouldn\'t feel like we\'re doomed. Plus, he\'s shaggy, which means he\'s getting extra points in my book.

Good NFLE QB\'s have a history in doing well in the NFL. Thats great he is off to a great start this year in the NFLE. Alwasy good to see a Saint do good and make news.

If JT has to be our QB for a game or two, i will be worried. I know he is just a third team QB but i have never seen him do anything impressive...when i worked training camp for the Saints, he looked bad. Maybe he learned to throw the ball in the last year but i dont know.

well you have to give him a chance to develop... seems like he maybe coming into his own. I am not saying he is ready to be a starter but seems like he is getting ready to be a good back up.

He\'s WAY ahead of where Delhomme was on the development curve.
How many said Jake would be nothing more than a back-up?
JT is an Irish Delhomme, with a better arm.
He has the skills. One of the knocks on this guy was he got in his teammates face\'s too much when they screwed up. I guess his Irish temper gets the best of him at times.
I wish Aaron got in people\'s faces more. But thats just not him.

I believe that is short for \"A big bag of nothing.\" Please correct me if I am wrong.

Ummm, ditto Danno\'s sentiments, I guess I should put that in my signature.

J.T. O\'Sullivan capped an assured performance with a pair of touchdown passes and running back Skip Hicks found the endzone three times as the World Bowl champion Frankfurt Galaxy were convincing winners of their Waldstadion showdown against the Rhein Fire.

New Orleans Saints-allocated quarterback O\'Sullivan completed 18 of 27 passes for 225 yards as the Galaxy inflicted the first defeat of the season on the Fire and posted a 3-0 start for the third straight year.

Meanwhile, Cincinnati Bengals running back Hicks rushed for two touchdowns and caught a 15-yard scoring pass to lead the league with five scores on the season.

It was also a memorable night for Galaxy kicker Ralf Kleinmann, whose fourth extra point of the game made him only the fourth player in NFLEL history to score 300 career points.

The meeting of the fiercest rivals in the NFL Europe League marked the first time that unbeaten teams had played each other as late as Week 3 since the inaugural season of 1991.

Look at that, Danno and I completely agree on something. ;)

08 beat me to that article. By the way, in addition, here are his stats through three games in NFLE:

J.T. O\'Sullivan, Fra (NO )
39 of 61 for 458 yards (a 63.9% completion percentage, 7.51 yard average) with 3 TDs, zero INTs, and a 103 QB rating.

That seems like a whole lot more than nothing to me. I think this kid might have a chance to overtake Bouman and be the backup. Anyone agree? He\'s got some talent and mobility and I really like his fire.

JT returns!

\"Although the death of his father was a shock for J.T. he will return to the team to play in the World Bowl. This shows the mental strength of this young man. He is such a good player, that the two weeks of missed practice will not affect his performance. He even has a whole week to prepare with the team for the Championship game,\" said Jones.

ESPN\'s new mag raves about J.T.
From the June 21st edition of ESPN the magazine:

quote:

EURO-STAR OUR SCOUTS INC. GURU FINDS THE NEXT JAKE DELHOMME

The past three Super Bowls featured starting QB\'s with NFL Europe resumes, so its only logical to ask if there\'s another Kurt warner, Brad Johnson, or Jake Delhommme across the pond. The favorite going into the Euro-season was Rohan Davey (Patriots), who lit up the league for Berlin. But his adversary in the June 12 World Bowl, ,Frankfurt\'s J.T. O\'Sullivan (Saints), also deserves a look.

O\'Sullivan\'s NFLEL numbers (1,527 yards, 61.2% completion rate) put him nearly on par with Davey and separate him from the rest of the backup pack in Europe, including Cowboy Chad Hutchinson. Sturdy (6\'2\", 220 lbs) and durable, O\'Sullivan does not possess an especially powerful arm, but he\'s got a quick release and feet nifty enough to buy time in the pocket. A sixth-round pick in 2002 out of Cal-Davis, O\'Sullivan worked on his major weaknesses--decision-making, field vision, patrience--in Europe. Despite interest from other teams, expect him to stay at least one more season in New Orleans, where he\'ll unseat Todd Bouman for the No. 2 spot behind Aaron Brooks.

Given Brook\'s injury history, that means O\'Sullivan could be taking regular-season snaps this fall. Hey, stranger things have happened.

Wow. Unseating Bouman. We\'ll see about that. As far as the \"Given Brooks injury history\" comment what is this guy talking about? Brooks hasn\'t missed a start (53 regular season and two playoff games) since taking over for an injured Jeff Blake in 2000. We all know he should have sat out a couple games at the end of 2001 but he didn\'t. I\'m looking forward to seeing Bouman and J.T. play often this year............mopping up in our blowout victories!!!!!!!!

Odd comment, I agree. You think he\'s refering to the end of 02 and Jakegate?

Props to JT, though. I hope he continues to develop, and if he can\'t unseat Bouman, maybe he can bring us a pick next year.
