Tru Dat by Sean Pamphilon
1 Attachment(s)
I met Steve a year ago through a mutual friend, whom he had battled with on the football field. I had just learned Steve had been diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease).
I had spent the previous year working on a film called, “The United States of Football” and spoke to Steve about being part of the documentary. On the second day we met, in March 2011, I was hooked on the energy that is Steve Gleason and we decided to do a film about he and his wife Michel, as they “stare(d) into the eye of the tiger,” and face his diagnosis with a dignity and uncommon grace. Steve and I are co-directing his film and also creating a video library (legacy time capsule) for his children (Michel gave birth to their first child, Rivers, in October). Words simply cannot define they way they approach their lives. They are beautiful people. Read more. Tru Dat This is the 6000 word statement that accompanied the tape released by Pamphilon. Please take the time to read it. Gregg Williams completely threw the Saints under the bus to try to cover for himself. |
That was a truly amazing read!
Gregg Williams should not ever be allowed to be near the game of football ever again |
after this audio tape came out. I bet he's done in the NFL
|
Well, what now.... That was a very good read. i myself a life long Saint fan and of the Nfl, has me scratching my head? What now? Gregg should never coach again after this. I just don't no how bad the Saints are going to get it after the appeals and player suspensions.
This is all a bad dream. |
Wow. Real Journalism? That was refreshing.

Guys... Hate to break it to you, but this is not "real journalism." This man USED Steve Gleason to get into the nervous system of an NFL team. Arguably the hardest nut to crack in all of pro sports. He got in because Gleason is sick and the Saints were looking to help him out with a project. They trusted this project would focus on the plight of Gleason's personal battles. That is the only reason this guy was allowed to tape anything.
Because, the only reason he was allowed into the locker room was because Gleason is sick, is also the reason nothing other than material pertaining to Gleason should have made it out of the confines of his ediing suite. This dude KILLED any chance another person in the media has at getting "inside" access in the Saints locker room ever again. All because he felt the need to express his opinion. I understand, there is a call or desire for "everything" to be reported... but life doesn't work that way. What greater good does the release of this tape serve? Williams was already suspended indefinitely. |

My initial reaction to this was what a Piece of SH-- this sean pamheon-or whatever his name is!? Not even going to give this turd the respect to get his name right. He used Steve Gleason and his poor health improperly, and nothing whatsoever can defend that.
|
I don't know but what was going thru the mind of whoever allowed a tape recorder into a pregame locker room.
The saying has always been what happens on the locker room stays in the locker room so why allow a recording. |
I don't too much mind this audio being released. GW threw us under the bus, so I don't mind GW being thrown under the bus.
If that's what GW calls coaching, then good riddance. Looking forward to having Spags actually coach and teach this defense, not just spew vitriol like GW. Maybe if GW could've focused on tactics instead of violence for a minute we couldve won a few more games. |

I know it is a bit long, but before you spout off, you should exert the tiny effort to actually read something that isn't primarily composed of pictures. Geez!! :whatever: |
I read the article. Doesn't change my stance one bit. He betrayed Gleason.
|
Like Mr. Miyagi once said ... "There is no bad student, only bad teacher". Good grief GW.
|
Nail, coffin. Gregg Williams your done.

Well ESPN was apparently not very interested in his Steve Gleason documentary, according to Pamphilon's own website they hadn't picked up the option on it, for over a year now. He's trying to get ESPN's attention, that he has this footage. Why else do you think he released the audio only, and not the video? ESPN is gonna pay primo money for that footage, anyone can see that. Now ESPN will probably buy his whole Steve Gleason documentary, just to get access to the juicy "smoking gun" bounty footage of Williams. It's true, he did defend the Saints, Vilma, and the front office in his piece. I have no doubt his friendship with Gleason and the Saints is genuine, he wasn't "using Gleason" or anything, but the timing of its release and even the legality of him taping it (not clear if it was done with or without Williams' permission) are kinda interesting issues to me.

Sad still think it should not have been made public only brings more harm. Reinforces though why Goodell did what he did I blame Payton and in a small part Loomis for not stopping Williams someway somehow. I have been down on Goodell think it was harsh but something had to be done wrong is wrong it is a matter of degree. Amazing what power will do to a man when he does not remember where he came from or cannot see where he is going.

I have seen Saints players calling out Pamphilon saying that he's sick for releasing the audio without Gleason's "ok." Quote:
