Rotoworld says Payton will set up a relay system with team. Parcells could have role.
Multiple GMs tell CBS' Mike Freeman they believe Saints coach Sean Payton will find a way to relay his thoughts to the team during his one-year suspension.
Specifically, the GMs believe Payton will "set up a relay system using people he trusts outside the team to then relay his thoughts to coaches." According to Freeman, GMs who know Payton are "certain" he won't "just sit on hands for a year," and that he'll try to "squirm around ban." Payton is not allowed any contact with the team for one year beginning on April 16, but the reality is the NFL won't be able to stop him if he's intent on relaying messages via a third party. Freeman also reports Bill Parcells is expected to act in an "unofficial advisory role" to the Saints' interim coaches per Payton's request Saints Offense - New Orleans Saints - 2012 Player Profile - Rotoworld.com |
hmmmm interesting ..... as I suspected it might happen!

No doubt if we get off to a good start the media will come out with
'inside sources say,Saints ignored the ban' etc etc |
called it a week ago...

This will be the basis of the drama next offseason, Goodell will have to investigate further
|
He could easily do something like Osama Bin Ladin did -- thumb drives given to trusted couriers, or emails sent to untraceable Hotmail/Yahoo type accounts, and then cut-and-pasted by a third party and resent to the coaches under different names...
On a related note -- if they are going to try and crack down on this, we all know that Goodell is a joke -- everyone KNOWS that Gregg Williams and Jeff Fisher were talking to each other while GW was still with the Saints, before the Saints were eliminated from the playoffs -- which by the rules they're not allowed to do, without official permission to talk to him...but I'm sure they did it through back channels, through the wife, through GW's son, relaying messages, maybe private cell phones that only they had the numbers for, etc. You just know that was going on, there was no way they could decide to hire Gregg Williams so fast and had him accept, if it hadn't been a done deal worked out prior to the end of the season...so if they crack down on the Saints, it will again be a case of hypocrisy by the league...oh well. |
Can't we just have one F***ing writer say something positive?
-Brees contract battle hurts all sides -naming Vitt HC is a bad move -SP is going to cheat -bountygate, bountygate, bountygate On paper our team is better than a year ago. Write about that instead of prosecuting us on the web |
