The secret is out on Colbert
By Dave Richard
NFL.com (April 20, 2004) -- You may be surprised to find that the career receptions leader at the University of Southern California is not Keyshawn Johnson. It's not Curtis Conway or Johnnie Morton, either. With 207, Keary Colbert holds the Trojans' record for catches. He also ranks third on USC's chart with 2,964 career receiving yards. That's pretty amazing considering the laundry list of receivers that have played in Southern California. But because he's been overshadowed in the media by teammate Mike Williams the past two years and by former USC receiver Kareem Kelly in 2001, Colbert isn't much a household name. But that's not to say he's not a draft room name. In fact, since the 6-foot-1, 207 pound Colbert ran his 40s in the 4.4 second range at the Trojans' Pro Day, the word is out on this cool character with the amazing hands. want more? click here: http://nfl.com/draft/story/7267363 |
The secret is out on Colbert
On ESPN yesterday, when asked who was a \"diamond in the rough\", if you will, Sean Salisbury and Mark Schlereth both mentioned Keary Colbert. They said how he was definitely overshadowed, but perrenially put up nice numbers for USC. Man, if we could get him in the 2nd or 3rd round, that would be a slick pick-up.
