Any reason NFL.com isn't showing ANYTHING on this???
Gimme some conspiracy theories guys. I got nothing.
|
They're not the sports version of TMZ like ESPN?!
|
Maybe they understand it's all bull****?
|
Simple answer; this is an ESPN story, not an NFL story. I've seen a couple other threads crushing Goodell for this and while I'm all for bashing Goodell whenever possible, he has nothing to do with this (yet).
|
Yeah, ESPN will be retracting this, I betchya...
|
They'll be following in the footsteps of the NFL Network in light of the Warren Sapp situation. The media is really becoming Goodell's worst enemy lol.

Here's a theory.....
It seems that daily there's a new lawsuit announced by former players. The League planted the rumor and let ESPN do its bidding on this so as to have another day to distract the media away from the lawsuit issue. They also figured that the story would continue to have legs tomorrow (again keeping the focus away from the lawsuits) yet keeping the league's nose clean as if they are not involved (that's why NFL.com is staying off of it). Wednesday,Thursday and Friday's coverage will focus on the draft, and then next Monday -- after a week of more bad news regarding the "terrible, cheating Saints" GODell will drop the bomb on the Saints players with fines and suspensions. Net result: Lawsuits are off of the sports pages and talk shows for 7 days, while all the while the Saints continued to be slowly turned over the open flame of negative public opinion, while also building additional support by the public and media for harsh actions against the players.... I hope I'm wrong |

The league already officially said this is the first they've heard of it.
|
Its possible the NFL might be prolonging player suspensions because they can't support them in court. So, they are allowing the media to dig up as much as they can on the saints to gain fan favor, hopefully find the smoking gun they desperately need, and will never release the evidence they have.
This at least seems plausible because of the way the NFL has dragged this out for months, seeing as they don't need approval from the NFLPA for anything, and have never cared what they thought before. |
As if we didn't have enough bad publicity already.
More meetings, more investigations, more confusion and more lying. States attorney and Federal wire tapping...are you serious? September is just waaaaaaayyyyyyyy too far away. |
"Any reason NFL.com isn't showing ANYTHING on this???"
Because they are a bunch of cowards at the NFL. Why not sit back and let ESPN take all the heat. |
Maybe because the investigation hasn't been done & there's no proof?

HALO CONSPIRICY THEORY #1
Quote:
The following is a creating of my own mind and not exactly true... Quote:

Because when the defamation and slander suits are filed the NFL does not want to have to put a Fleur-de-Lis in its shield.

HALO CONSPIRICY THEORY #2 - THE ROZELLE - GOODELL LEGACY
This is my second conspiracy theory from off top my head. This may not be true, but you make the call...

The only thing that I can think of:
The NFL didn't find out about it until the OTL report yesterday. I'm thinking that they don't want to comment about it until they have something to report (good or bad) |
