Agreed, new system might be what he needs. Besides, starters will probably be changed soon enough anyway depending on suspensions.

LOL Shanle may actually turn out to be one of the only guys that doesn't have any Bounty dirt on him and can actually play a whole season. We'll see. I do sorta read between the lines, and take this to mean that the Saints have a pretty good idea in their minds about the length of Vilma's suspension and it's not good.

He did say that if Vilma was healthy, Vilma at MIKE and Lofton at SAM.

He also said there are still a lot of moving parts, which I guess that means the starters are far far from set.

Joe, I don't think saying the word Shanle in your first conference was a good idea.

Interim coach Joe Vitt suggested LB Curtis Lofton would move to the strong side when Jonathan Vilma is healthy and in the lineup.

If Vilma is suspended, as expected, Lofton will move back to the middle with David Hawthorne on the weak side and Scott Shanle on the strong side. Chris Chamberlain, signed away from the Rams, could end up competing for snaps with Shanle.

Interim coach Joe Vitt expects Mark Ingram (turf toe surgery) to be 100 percent for OTAs next month.

Even though Ingram didn't begin running in a pool until earlier this month, Vitt described the back's health as "excellent." He shouldn't be limited in the least by training camp.
