NICHOLAS “Nick” TOON
Wide Receiver Wisconsin 6-4 218 Middleton, Wisconsin Middleton High School Saints Select WR Nick Toon in the 4th Round of the NFL Draft What do you guys think? |
I dig it. He reminds me of a smaller Colston.
|
Like the pick. Solid WR.
|
He fits our locker room and will add to our offense. Our WR's outside of Colston are a bit undersized.
Good pick. |
6'2" 215 with decent enough speed, I like it...
|
After checking out the videos I feel better about the pick. Nice replacement for Meach
|
fits the system. drew is not a strong arm qb anyways. west coast mid range wr.
|
Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. Jared Crick was still on the board. Stupid. Not even the receiver I would have taken if I was forced to take a receiver. Stupid.

I like it. Character guy, good route runner who knows how to use his size to block out defenders and NFL pedigree to boot. Nice depth addition.

Offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael said it wasn't necessarily losing WR Robert Meachem in free agency pushed the Saints to take WR Nick Toon in the fourth round. Carmichael feels Toon will play more that one WR spot because of his intelligence. Carmichael also said Toon's speed is better than people give Toon credit for. |

I think you are thinking of Matt Ryan. |
Tanner and Morgan will have a bit of competition......good. More position battles mean better play.
Which one of these guys tore his Achilles? I believe that can slow you down for a couple of years and may be why we spent a draft pick on a WR. |
come on how many times have you seen wr stop for the ball? lol
|
^
Arrington better watch out....everybody's assuming he has the #4 spot locked up, but Toon could push him. |
He certainly has the blood line. We were going to take a WR somewhere in the draft, so here he is. No issues with the pick and I think he'll give us solid production when called upon. I'd like to see us address the secondary or OL with our next pick.
|
Don't really understand the pick we needed d help.....
|
6000 yds. There's only one game to run clock and that's SB.
|
The moment I heard this from analyst I knew this was a great pick......
"Not impressive size and speed combination but he has great hands and runs solid routes" Good job......Now, why would we go after Crick? If Loomis really wanted him they would have taken him in the 3rd. I think we got our DT for the future. |
This kid is a good wide receiver. I like the pick to add some stability to the receiving corps.
|
I wonder if he compares to an Eric Martin. Great hands, reliable, great routes, mediocre speed etc...
Who does he remind you guys of? |

We may have 5 new starters on defense already in Bunkley, Lofton, Chamberlain, and maybe Hawthorne and Hicks. I'm not sure where we need more defensive help, considering the young players we have ready to step up. |
After watching some of his highlights, he reminds me of a bigger slightly slower Lance Moore.
Great route runner, not afraid to go across the middle and take a lick, and catches just about everything... scratch that; Moore ran a a 4.5 40 too |
