its horrible news, this is crazy why , why, would he do this. was he suffering from a illness? has anyone heard of this? read an article the other day of him playing golf in a benifit tourney. how can it come do this. i'm really shook. feel sorry for him almost. he had family, kids and millions of fans. i pray for him and his family.

Well, one of the things that has come up in some of the coverage pertaining to this sad event, is that for many professional players it's incredibly hard to come to terms with life after the sports career.

And the bigger the star you've been, the harder it's to live without having millions of people watch you play and cheer for you like a modern day gladiator. But maybe even more than that it's the camaraderie that players have with their teammates, which is impossible to recreate after you've retired.

I think it was Neil or somebody else close to Seau, who said yesterday in an interview that it's tough because you've been concentrating on football your whole life. From the little leagues, to high schools, colleges, and then finally to the NFL. All the effort and concentration that goes into that whole process, and what it takes to stay in the league and be a good player - and then one day it all ends, and then you're left wondering what your life has in store for you next, and can it ever be as great as it has been?

Naturally, most players find a way to carry on and make their post-football days even better than what they were, but I can definitely see how it could have a negative effect on a person's life and mental state.
