Ed Werder's source says Saints bounty program exaggerated
Ed Werder was just on SportsCenter. He is at the Saints facility today. He said a Saints source he spoke to said "The leagues findings are exaggerated. In contrast to the leagues contention the Saints bounty program existed for 3 years... It was limited to playoff games in the Superdome against Arizona and Minnesota." The source then went to say, "This whole thing is one big joke. Except for the 2 games in 2009, the rest is a joke. No one has stood up and told the truth."
I hope that now with all the punishments dished out, the Saints start speaking up. I know the organization has taken the silent approach, but with the suspensions given, the players need to tell their side of the story. I really look forward to the players union challenging Goodell's "facts" and "evidence" that all of the stuff we're accused of happened. |
It's about to get real legal, real fast. Just shouldn't have messed with Vilma's whole season!
|
I'm kinda stuck on the words "a source" though. Remember how we had a time with "a source" talking about Loomis somehow bugging the other team's communications....
|
Unfortunately for the Saints, Goodell & the league have painted themselves into a corner trying to head off all of the concussion-related lawsuits that are about to be filed by former players.
Hopefully Vilma & Smith will be allowed to play while their suspensions are being appealed. |
Hey Ed ..... no kidding, where were you in March trying to say this. Thats right your master at ESPN didn't pull those strings for you till now. Shut up and go chase that choker Tony Romo around like you usually do

Look this is just ESPN's version of make-up sex so they don't get their panties sued off because of the LIE they reported about Mickey Loomis and Spying from the booth. Besides, is this ESPN "source" as reliable as it was in the Spygate attempt 2 weeks ago? |
Screw job deluxe.
Thanks for trying to make us your scapegoat / whipping boy to head off lawsuits by former players. |
Mister Ed Werder can pound sand......I'm very, very tired of the term "source". And the mother ship still blows.
|
"Oops..........maybe things got a little out of hand. Let's make nice."
|
I have to admit though.. as nice as it sounds, ESPN has been going on the 'Saints Vilma penalty was too harsh" thing all day. I wouldn't doubt if this is to clear their name for their mess up with the Loomis story... I'd like more information on this source, but if it's true, it wouldn't surprise me.
Could be a publicity stunt, though. |

He gave a Vilma a year because he knows it will be reduced through the union & the courts. If he had given Vilma a 6 game suspension the chances would have been slim to have Vima miss these many games because it could be reduced to 3. With an entire season susupension he figures he can still Get Vilma suspended for maybe half the season thereby still having a little more games & money out of Vilma's discipline.

MOTHERSHIP = MOTHERLOAD (of BS)
I won't name names, but this reminds me a lot of a political event I watched unfold MANY years ago. Make a heinous allegation that makes Moms, little kids and puppies cringe, pile on with everything else you can come up with regardless of the fact that it is circumstantial (at best) or complete BS, and repeat incessantly. And when you're caught not having any evidence, then act self-righteous by insisting that you had to investigate and drag the person (Saints) through the mud for the "greater good" and due to the seriousness of the charges. After all, your actions will have brought "awareness" to the issue (player safety), and of course that far outweighs any inconvenience experienced by the accused. |

You know this guy named Source sure knows a lot of what is going on in the sports world, sure would like to meet him just to find out how in the world he is able to get to so many places each day .....
