The protest!

Home opener is Sep 9th. Who we play is moot. How cool would it be for the cameras to see an ocean of Free Payton ribbons? 4" ribbon on every fan and giant 6' cardboard ribbons being held like an ocean of black and gold.

We need to fashion an intelligent revolt.... Lord knows the rest of the NFL nation is just scratching to find another reason to say Saints fans are dirty, ignorant, "just like their dirty team, etc... If there is ANYTHING negative in the campaign the rest the NFL fans will spin that against New Orleans. So keep it positive and focus on the one thing we REALLY want.

Sean Payton back.

It is also going to be difficult to get 72,000 fans all on the same page, and spend money to do it... unless that cost is only $1-$2.

For $1-$2 per ribbon I bet someone could sell a crap load of ribbons in New Orleans before the game.

FREE PAYTON where "personalize it" is.

Ill take it one step further, since it is just ribbon and cardboard, imagine turning on another teams game and randomly seeing 6' black in gold ribbons with "free payton" in the stadium... There are Saints fans EVERYWHERE, there are also fans of other teams who hate Goodell just enough to join in out of spite.

I wonder if Benson has the testicular fortitude to hang a 60' version on the outside of the dome before the game?

I'd almost bet when godell shows up to the dome, he'll be sittin' in Bensons box in a show of....choke.... "unity". Even as Tom's smiling through clenched teeth, I'd also bet he wouldn't mind some free Payton material floating around. I like the idea of a civilized statement, just as long as it's huge.

So the 60 footer on the dome should be 120 feet? With GOLD LIGHTS! And a blimp!

I dont like to down anybody's post, but I personally don't like that idea, and I make stuff like that, including the banner lol. I think it would be much better for every fan to wear a Sean Payton mask to EVERY game.

You are not "downing" anything, its your opinion. I have seen the mask idea before and it is just not something EVERYONE could do easily... Elderly are not going to wear a mask, a ribbon on the other hand would match their attire.

For this project to work it needs to be inexpensive, easy to do, reusable, not an obstruction to vision, drinking, eating.....

I don't like masks for Halloween much less going to a football game and trying to drink, eat, and watch the game AND kids.

If a mask is done, the first comment out of opposition will be "why are you hiding"?

I'm with you there.

I am no fan of Rush Limbaugh, but back in the day when he had a TV show (and that was a long time ago, during the Clinton years), he did something I thought clever, when "ribbon-mania" started sweeping the nation: he wore every single ribbon pin on his lapel from every major "movement" he could find; back then there were not as many causes with ribbons as today, so he had about 12-16 pins pinned to his lapel, because, as he mocked, "this shows I care more than all of them [Democrats]". The obvious statement was, pinning a ribbon to your lapel shows nothing more you have something pinned to your lapel.

Sean Payton masks, now, not only would it be freaking hilarious, especially with a couple of "Where's [s]Waldo[/s] Sean?" or "Would the real [s]Slim Shady[/s] Sean Payton please stand up?' signs floating around, it would really be an "up yours" to the NFL FO.

Edit to add, the [s]strike through[/s] text doesn't work here ... but you get the idea

I also like the mask idea. Certainly some of you guys who live down in New Orleans can start searching out local sponsers, (who have nothing to do with the NFL) who would like to show support for their local team, and have 50-60,000 of these things printed out to be handed at the door. If the door is a problem, hand them out on Poydras, right outside of Champion Square. There wouldn't be a camera shot for three hours that didn't have a picture of Sean Payton in the background. What better way to say "SUCK IT GOODELL"!
