Chris Carter offered bounties.....

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; bill romanowski was on Dan Patrick later in the morning saying this was false. He did go on to say that Ronnie Lott once paid him 500 for a sack...

One of my favorite Vikings players ever!

Moss owes a lot to Carter, because he really was a great mentor to him as a rookie.

This just proves the point further that this is something that has been going on in the league for as long as it has been around.

Fin, don't mean to "mischaracterize" your words, but this idiot mentored Randy Moss?!?

Wow, just, Wow!

Everyone knows that football is a violent game and bounties have been involved in the sport for years.

The issue here is that the NFL is trying to put an end to bounties and apparently (I don't know because the NFL wont release its supposed "earth shattering" evidence) warned the Saints to stop it and they didn't.

Who tells 1 out of 32 children doing something to stop? Who stops something that all other teams are doing?

Its not safety, its not prosecution, its persecution.

Well, he did a very good job mentoring him and helping him make the transition to the NFL level and style of play - I didn't mean anything about his character or better yet the lack of one.

You can't really argue against him having made an instant impact with the Vikings and Carter deserves credit for a lot of it, I know many of the then Vikes' staff members feel that way by the articles and TV shows I've seen about it.

I seem to remember the Vikes having been the NFL's #1 ranked offense in 1998 and Moss having been elected as the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year while also making the Pro Bowl as a starter.

So, yeah, Wow!

Way to man up Chris. The more guys that do this, the more the media has to take notice that its a league problem, and Goodell is making the Saints pay for their inaction sense Goodell has been in office.

Na, I like it. This is fuel for the team. The more logs on the fire the better.
I want the boys to be thinking we don't want a Superbowl, we just want to get to Goodell. Its great locker room material.
Get to the Super bowl and make him hand you the trophy.
