Loomis overseeing Hornets
Report: Loomis will oversee basketball operations of New Orleans Hornets | ProFootballTalk
Loomis will be overseeing the Hornets now. What do you guys think about this? |
During his 8 game suspension; no problem! Before the Hornets though; Drew is the #1 priority!

It is probably a good move to have Loomis on board even for the short term. |
Good maybe he will bring some talent to the team
|
I am not a fan of this.... It means he will be distracted until game 9.
However, it is a smart move. Why not make Payton the teams head or assistant coach. Make Vilma a training manager... Slap Goodell right in the face.... The NFL wants to suspend people with out pay for a season? Okay, we will put them to work and pay them through the NBA. Eat it Goodell. |
Not really a fan. Would like the Hornets to use someone w/ a basketball pedigree.

It is a total FU to Goodell in my opinion. A bird flip from Tom Benson personally to Rodger.
I actually think he is just going to set things up, open the shop, put the office and its philosophies in place, keep a chair warm, and then they will get in a basketball person eventually to run things after that. |

Your right. Plus he still gets paid. ! |
I think it's more of a publicity ploy than anything w/ Goodell.....and confirmation in my fear of a Saintification of the Hornets...

Tom doesn't want a "Loser" for a team. Loomis will put the Hornets on a winning path. I guarontee!
|
Loomis can handle it. He'll actually do some work while at the office.
I don't know what kind of budget the hornets had in place. They were owned by the league and were somewhat managed by contract labor. Loomis got Benson to dig a little deeper in his wallet and he pulled out a winner. The NBA isn't much different. Organized talent! The team has to built out of a good front office, good coaching, and good players; Two or three marguees, and then role players to help with the other dirty work. The front office part we know is pretty good. Coaching? Monty Williams is still discovering himself. Remains to be seen. Good players? Lost CP3 but have 2 lottery picks in the draft. No problem at all with Loomis taking on these duties. I would love to see them turn that bunch into a winner. That would be sweet. |
If Loomis can turn the Saints around; I don't see why he couldn't do it with the Hornets. Good Points darstep!
