Competetion for starting positions

A little competition is healthy right?
Competition for a starting spot means we "should" get the best player starting?

Why should a 6 year vet have issue with competing for a starting position if he is the best man on the field?

Now the flip. (with no happy ending)

If my boss came in and said "you have been here for 11 years, however tomorrow we are taking this new hire and putting him right next to you. If you screw up once, your going to have to sit the next year out".

I would tell him he can take his job and shove it dry, with no hug, lube, or kiss.

I am just saying......

Well since every player knows that each season is a fight for the best 53, I don't see how its unfair at all.

If a player has a problem with that, I'd tell him to take his complaint and shove it, dry, with no hug, with no lube, or kiss.

not to mention; with a new defensive coordinator a competition is to be expected for the defensive starters at least

Every spot should always be up for grabs, when a player proves they are the better than their competition they deserve the spot

The only issue I can see is if it was announced that Drew, Chase and Sean C. were in an open competition.

Announcements of open competition at a specific position with an obviously superior player entrenched could be seen as disrespectful.

Competition is what this country is all about. The minute you feel complacent, is the minute someone grabs your spot.

Just as long as they don't grab the lub. ;)

Actually, I'm looking forward to watching some very good camp competitions.....just hopefully not at QB.

Ugh ... if the competition ends up being at QB, I doubt it will qualify as "very good camp competition." Can you imagine???

The depth chart shows players where they are ranked within their positions.
The #2 guy knows he's #2 and has to somehow prove he deserves to be #1.
He better watch out because there is a guy on the bubble, who is trying to avoid
selling insurance for a living.
The better player should be on the field. Even if he makes 2.5mil less than last years starter.
If he proves he's better, natural selection will work the money thing out later.
