The thing is, I know people probably don't like to hear this, but what Cowherd said is indicative of a whole line of thinking, "out there" in the U.S., in certain circles. There are a LOT of people out there who HATE the city, hate the people, hate the culture, hate the fact that it's different, hate everything about it, and frankly they wish we would all just go away and sink into the swamps. I'm never shocked or surprised anymore when someone says something like this. It comes with the territory, that anything to do with New Orleans, certain people out there are just gonna hate on it no matter what. And this bountygate mess is gonna make it even worse, I hate to be the one to say it.
He's ridiculously wrong, of course, but he is kinda right about the airport. NO's airport is pretty weak by comparison to other cities. |
I didn't read every comment but I didn't have to. I know how we all feel about NO and cowherd is the tool we all think he is. NO might not be the easiest place to get to, but it sure is fun. I love the city, been there many times and never had a bad time or a bad experience.

IDK, but I think this guy (Cowherd) is really only speaking for a dumb-ass few, if not just for himself. My impression, after reading that link, was that if he's so 'travelled', he must spend a lot of time in his hotel room to have such a low opinion of New Orleans. Anybody that's been around as much as he claims to be knows there's good things & bad things about every major city ... you just may have to look around more in some places to find the fun and that certainly is not the case in NO. Everybody I encounter thinks about New Orleans as Mardi Gras, French Quarter, good food, jazz, hot weather, cajun culture, nice hotels, historical ... a place they'd like to visit if they haven't already been there, et... and nothing that's gone on in the NFL-side of things changes that ... I think you guys got more fans & people on your side then you think, they're just not as vocal or have a microphone such as idiots like Cowherd, Florio, yada, yada, yada ... |
