Hines Ward brought this point up about giving RG too much authority.
He and others tried to push the issue during the CBA but they could not get support. I have empathy for the players, I know what it's like trying to get what you want or deserve. On the other hand, I'm not sympathetic towards people who just give up. If they wanted a more fair relationship with the NFL then they should have hunkered down and fought for it. Now we have players saying it's not fair. We'll no s!@#t. |

I agree with what you're saying. but i think that the players whose livelihoods depend on those weekly checks during the season were the ones who swayed them from continuing to fight it. They were getting restless and I think the NFLPA panicked because they didn't want a lot of players turning on the union for dragging it out....but I agree with you tho.....they should have fought harder for it... the owners would have cracked believe me....they want to make their money just as much if not more than the players do.
