But if you look at that play, it was like he was frozen in time for a couple of seconds and the guard moved on to block another guy instead. Then when Miller finally got into motion there was no one between him and the QB, because everyone had mistaken him for a piece of rock. Still, I think that Johnson is one of the better chances for the Saints to actually have true pass rush from the interior of the D-line. Based on his CFL reel and what I saw out of him in that SF preseason game - he has great mobility, both north/south and east/west, and good instincts on when to pursuit and when to stay on gap control. Hicks has potential as well, but his lateral movement is far less effective than Johnson's. |
