Like it or not he played on the Saints team during the alleged bounty incidents and switching teams won't help.

If he does want out he'll have to sit out this season and not play. This will be MEGA costly in millions of dollars he will not recoup during the remainder of his career.

Finally, as of last week Drew sold his home in San Diego, established another business in New Orleans and went before the City Council to ask for a zone variance, and is in active negotiations with the Saints front office which sent him another offer-sheet this past Friday.

These are not the actions of someone wanting to distance themselves with an organization, rather affirming hints he's probably staying for good.

Because of these evidential reasons, I firmly do not believe Drew wants to leave the New Orleans Saints for any reason, speculative or not.
It wasn't his only home is was his second home. His real home is still right there in San Diego. Jimmy Johns can run itself and be taken care of anywhere in the country. He could sit out and get a trade next year. If he doesn't want to risk injury playing under the tag he might sit out anyway. Sitting out is a better investment in the long run than playing and risking the possibility of getting injured and never getting a check ever again. Just for arguments sake Im not saying I think this will happen.

Then why the small publicity stunts in New Orleans? Why not send a business representative to the City Council and ask for a zone variance for a new business venture in New Orleans?

Look, if Drew wanted out of New Orleans, all he has to do is go meet with Mr. Benson and Mickey Loomis and tell them he wants out.

The Saints would have Brees sign a 1 year extension contract which puts an end to the franchise tag issue.

Then New Orleans front office would put Brees out on the trading block. New Orleans would be compensated by another NFL team with a buyout of Brees' contract, multiple first round picks, and more secondary draft picks, and Drew will go to the highest bidder and get his new contract ASAP.

Why try to "back out" of New Orleans, lose a years salary, sit on his butt for a season, drop in value, and screw the Saints organization because they would get nothing in compensation for him (which costs Brees nothing by the way.)

It makes no business sense whatsoever.

And believe me, that Jimmy Johns would not do well if Brees did that, just sayin. His name is attached to it. If he left on good terms, yes it would run itself, but if he "backed out" of New Orleans, patrons would "back out" from going to his Jimmy Johns.

Good points except for on Jimmy Johns. Jimmy Johns is not going to generate enough revenue to make any difference to Brees whatsoever. He didn't do that for the purpose of making money. He likes Jimmy Johns and wanted to bring it here to New Orleans. The most he would make owning a Jimmy Johns is probably around 150-350k a year which is chump change to him. If that much. I know a thing or two about the restaurant business. If he owned multiple that would be a different story. On a side note I wish he would have opened an In-And-Out Burger instead.
