Sitting out is a better investment in the long run than playing and risking the possibility of getting injured and never getting a check ever again. Just for arguments sake Im not saying I think this will happen.

Look, if Drew wanted out of New Orleans, all he has to do is go meet with Mr. Benson and Mickey Loomis and tell them he wants out. The Saints would have Brees sign a 1 year extension contract which puts an end to the franchise tag issue. Then New Orleans front office would put Brees out on the trading block. New Orleans would be compensated by another NFL team with a buyout of Brees' contract, multiple first round picks, and more secondary draft picks, and Drew will go to the highest bidder and get his new contract ASAP. Why try to "back out" of New Orleans, lose a years salary, sit on his butt for a season, drop in value, and screw the Saints organization because they would get nothing in compensation for him (which costs Brees nothing by the way.) It makes no business sense whatsoever. And believe me, that Jimmy Johns would not do well if Brees did that, just sayin. His name is attached to it. If he left on good terms, yes it would run itself, but if he "backed out" of New Orleans, patrons would "back out" from going to his Jimmy Johns. |

I know a thing or two about the restaurant business. If he owned multiple that would be a different story. On a side note I wish he would have opened an In-And-Out Burger instead.
