Mike Triplett bites back!

The more and more we learn about this, the more I'm convinced that(a) the blame for this belongs on the head of potty-mouthed psychopathic coach Gregg Williams, and stuff that happened got blown out of proportion by people who weren't even there in the room and (b) the punishments on Payton, Loomis, Vitt and Fujita had a lot more to do with personal grudges that Goodell had against them, for either who they were, who their friends were (Payton/Ornstein for example), or for what they represented as a threat to making Goodell look bad.

Goodell-gate!!! What a crock of ****.

The players should ABSOLUTELY go on strike and DEMAND that this man step down. How can he talk about integrity and honesty and all that crap and be SO dishonest as to all but end Vilma's career and taint the images of otherwise good people who, if guilty of anything, are guilty of nothing that hasn't been going on in the NFL for decades.
STRIKE! I BEG YOU NFLPA...STRIKE! |
IMO, the Saints brought this mess on themselves.
When the league told them they were being investigated for 'bountys', the Saints knew they weren't doing anything that the other 31 teams weren't doing and they continued with business as usual. Unfortunately for the Saints, the league saw the approaching firestorm of lawsuits over concussions coming, and the Saints, unknowingly, were supplying the league with the pieces of the puzzle to put the fire out. The league took the '...pay me comments', after Favre went to the sidelines after being sacked, the Vilma $10K bounty, the GW speech before the 40-whiners game, and others I am forgetting and built a case against the Saints. The leagues case is 100% circumstantial, but that won't stop Goodell. Having Goodell as judge, jury and executioner, the Saints are playing a game they can't win, at least in court! Do you know the difference between a liar and a lawyer? Pronunciation! |

Not sure the NFLPA would get a strike vote passed.
My thoughts would be that ANY comment made to the press could be "thrown back in your face at any time". A better strategy by the players (every player in the union) may just be to decline to make any comment to the press at any event. They may be required to attend events, but they cannot be required to make a statement - "no comment", could be an adequate strategy if used properly. The NFLPA does have the right to fine members and something like that would show a large amount of solidarity within the union. For the league to give the players "evidence" after the penalties were handed out gives question to the amount of original evidence the league had - 50,000 documents. Why didn't the league give all documents to the players and make them have TEAM of lawyers overwhelmed trying to get through them in time? |

More like a Bush to me! They have weapons of mass destruction, take my word on that |
I for one will rather have Goodell stay as the commissioner and keep steadily ruining the game than risk even a single season of football because of a strike. I know that it makes me sound like a hypocrite for having called for his resignation, but my mental health couldn't take a lockout season in football.
Although, I guess I could get my football fix elsewhere... http://www.guysnation.com/wp-content...arcus_t463.jpg |
